Plant too yellow in week 7 flowering

I have two plants that are 7 weeks into flowering. One plant (more on the left) is very green, at least 2/3 pistils brown and looks ready to harvest in a week. The other (right) is pretty yellow, most pistils are still white, however it has much bigger buds. The PH is 6.2 and it gets half str flowering nutes (nute burn if i would use full) every other watering. The left plant doesnt get nutes anymore. I flushed both plants today because i hadnt done that but otherwise Im not sure why the one plant is so yellow. Any guesses, maybe N deficiency, and should i even still do anything with it being 7 weeks into flowering already and the end is in sight?

I have looked around because people with yellow leaves is a common issue but there are still so many things that could be the problem.

These are the TWO plants in Scrog. Left side (darker leaves) is plant one, Right side (yellow) is the other problem plant

Further info: 300W CFLs, 1 inch away, 90F right next to bulb.

i know but not this much, especially compared to the other plant which was grown exactly the same. Its going completly yellow and more from the top down. Lower leaves are more green

It being at the end of it's life, it's putting all it's resources into making bud. It has no need to keep the leaves looking nice anymore. I wouldn't worry about it.

but why does the other plant with same conditions and same strain not have pale green leaves everywhere, it just loses a yellow leaf here and there towards the bottom. If everything is fine i cant complain, im just not sure that thats the case

I've encountered the same thing here - same seeds, same conditions, nutes/water from the same bucket - different results. Go figger...

Me too. I'm on flower week 7 exactly, some areas of the canopy are yellowing quite excessively and others are still quite green. I also have few brown pistills, probably about 5% brown at this stage which is slightly concerning. I just hope they ripen before the yellowing starts making its way to the little smokable leaves poking out of the bud.

I wouldnt worry about it now that you are so close to harvest. Are you 7 weeks from 12/12 or when flowering actually started?

7 weeks from the switch to 12/12. I don't understand why any indoor grower would ever consider the start of flowering to be when flowers start appearing because it doesnt happen in one day it happens gradually. I guess if you had an auto flower strain you'd have no choice.

Flowering doesnt begin until flowers begin to appear. Not when you turn on your timer. Some strains take longer to begin than others.

So then how do people narrow their flowering duration down to the day? How can anyone say "im on day X of flower"? Because at what exact stage in the 1-2 week period after 12/12 switch do the nodes officially go from non-flowering to flowering? It's a gradual thing, its like asking at what exact point does a kitten become a cat? It seems so much easier if you just measure it by when you switched them over because then everyone is going by the same timeframe and it eliminates the highly subjective determination between a plant being in flower or not.

Does this mean that most strains i grow are actually 6 week strains, and not 8 week? Given that it takes a week or two for flowers to begin (or not - depending on what your definition is). This doesnt really make sense unless you're talking about an outdoor grow.

i watch my plants my friend. When i see pistols other than the pistols from the preflowers i consider that day, day 1 of flower. It may not be exact but its close enough. Are you arguing for the sake of arguing? I dont know about you but i'm here to help people out and learn.

Possibly... i am trying to avoid shit work jobs and i'm still recovering from the weekend but i think i make valid points. I'm not trying to be a prick but honestly i am pretty surprised because i've been growing for a number of years on and off and have done a shitload of research. To induce flowering you cut the light cycle down to 12/12 therefor i naturally assumed thats when the flowering phase begun. Meaning that 6 weeks into flower means 6 weeks from 12/12. I feel its a pretty important distinction to make clear because knowing your flowering duration is quite important.

:clap:The only thing clear here is my first day of flower is when i see pistols and your first day of flower is when you turn your timer on. Soooo how bout i let you be right? Feel better?

Nah not at all because from now on whenever someone says they are X weeks/days into flower i won't know whether they are measuring it using your method or mine. I've started a thread to gauge which system people on here use so that should be interesting.

Obviously i think mines better because there's no interpretation required, but its not worth arguing about :P

By the way... at the risk of sounding like an asshole... you know its pistils not pistols right? :P

Id disagree, pretty much everyone I read seems to use the first appearannce of pistils after the switch to 12/12 . And no, its not exact... but then flowering times in general are not exact, even my 72-77 day autos didnt finsih till past day 80 from seed(which is how you calc autos) ane lets face it the day it sprouts is pretty exact... so in your counting(nizmo) an 8 week flowering strain would be mor lke at least a 9 week if not 10 week strain...look at it this way.... its a carryover from outdoors where there is no switvh to 12/12, the only thing you can go on is appearance of flowers, pretty sure when a breeder says its a 10 week flowering strain they are counting from when the flowers appear

A kitten becomes a cat at 1 human year of age.

Flowering starts when pistols first come out. I know I was confused since many grow guides make you think it's at the switch but few actually explain in full.
