move the lite. or cut it off so the lite will goto the rest of the plant. most plants stop growing after 3 week 12/12. how far are you on with flowering. ant pics?.

currently i dont have pics, tieing isn't an option due to space, regardless if i tie it down it will still grow and touch the lights, its on day 10 of flowering. i have some alternatives which will reduce lighting but i want to know if there is a solution.

move the lite or cut off the top cola, but a plant should stop growing after 21 days 12/12. so if your past this point your ok, if your using flos.

day 10 of flowering and yes im using cfls, do you think the plant will grow 4 more inches in the next 11 days if it will stay under 4-5 inches ill be ok

well i know that if i tie it down, there isn't even room in the area for the plant to lean and gain any distance from the light, if i tie it to the side basically it'll be the same height because i cannot bend it very far.

oic what you mean ok....the idea with tying to the side it that you defer the upward growth along the length of the tied stem....and yes you do get additional heigth growth but with successive tie-offs you continue to keep the plant lower. with you saying 10 days in flower....you prolly have quite some more growth to expect.....mine had been growing alomst 1+" per day....and the general rule of thumb is they slow down after 2-3 weeks of flower.....in terms of where to cut the cola....I have not done this before so I'm sorry I cannot help with an answer to that.

STOP

Dont trim the main Cola, take a look through the forum posts for "supercropping" I have had great success, by bending and twisting, you could too. If your going to cut it , why not just give it a hard bend. Some say that doing this in flowering can cause hermies but I have never had that problem even bending up into week 6. Good luck.

hey man....yea...the reality is I'm not sure I gonna be in a much better position...i have tied all my tops and they just keep friggin' growing....I will also have to keep a close eye....I very slightly burnt one of them the other day prior to ying over....but all remains well....good luck man...I'll keep watching! this is page 78 of my journal and the last pics I posted... https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/33444-tahoes-doing-stepping-up-plate-78.html

My sativa is stretching bad too. My 100% indica plant isn't giving me those problems.

Some might not agree, but I think for CFL grows, indicas are the way to go.

Sounds like its to late for you, But
I also am verically impaired.
I grow my plants to within 2 inches of the desired height (36")and then blast them for 3 days with "Bush Master" from Humblot Ca.
Here are a few pics from my 4' x 5.5' grow area, 24 pots hydro.
26th day flower.
Happy New Year
