I also had this happen with my first grow, 2nd plant, Both in the same room, but just the one plant.

I'm thinking it's some kinda nutrient deficiency, or maybe is somewhat strain related.

There is no way i burned my plants.

It's still kickin'. Another 4 weeks before harvesting. It seems like some skunk strain. Got the seeds from a good source.

The other which I just hung today... I've yet to See x]

Happens on my plants occasionally, I think it's from heat, I heard someone say something about excess wind could cause the stipules and stigmas to dry up.

But I don't know about that so much....I'll let you decide.

Well unless you're growing SOG I think it's generally accepted that it's a good idea to let the plant veg for at least a month before 12/12 it, but whatever works bro :)

what do you mean a month ive rea don several sites saying you should switch 12/12 when theres a decents amount of pistils or even when the pistils come out

At 78F, especially with CFL, unless it's physically touching the actual plant there's no way it should be burning, probably some weird genetics the plant's got.

Well, you want to get the plant mature before flowering it, to let it develop for the heavy buds that'll grow once it's in flowering, so you start with 18/6 for 4-6 weeks, then force flowering with 12/12 light schedule for 8-12 weeks, depending on strain.

You're not supposed to see pistils unless it's in flowering, you did because you started 12/12 right off of the bat, so the plant started flowering right away.

One of the tell-tale signs of buds being ready to harvest is when pistils turn brown, but it should happen roughly by the end of the plant's flowering cycle, before chopping :)

so what your saying is that no cfl should burn a plant.. especialy at 8 inches away.. and i fucking hope its the strain bro lol

Wrong..

You will see pistols from female pre flowers...this happens while in veg growth.
Well, speaking from personal experience pistils on all of my 10 plants only came out once I put them in 12/12, thats when I saw male sacs and chopped them, not in veg. I read that it's rare a plant shows sex before flowering, but it's possible, I personally have never seen these pre-flowers you're talking about, so can't really comment.

adidas61: yeah, CFL doesn't release lots of heat, especially at 8 inches away, you can maybe put it even closer.

the one with the burned pistils was 12/12 from see. Yes i vegged for 24 days on my others, then switched to 12/12... 4 weeks down the road i just threw another germ in the mix, and it's the one with the pistils lookin like that.

^^ anyhow. Idk. i bet it still smokes just fine and dandy x]

well my outside plants are doing that right now so i don't think it is the lighting. i think they just dry from dry heat instead of humity heat
