Pig Farmer thinks he is just gonna grow weed in WA and rake in the money! LOL

The pig farmer has never tried weed. He has a lot of learning and failures ahead of him. In the end he will probably come out okay. He is going greenhouse so it will be one crop a year for him.

I already think a lot of cheap Oregon weed makes it to Washington. Don't ask me how I know this.

Where is anyone getting this idea the state is going to charge 500K for a grow license? That's not correct as best as I can tell.

According to the language in 502 $250 application fee plus $1000 license fee.... for each one, so times two.

Nice while I don't think I should have to pay to grow cannabis, I think those fees are reasonable if they're going to do it anyway... :) Time to get geared up in WA!

Completely wrong, its really simple.

1. Find a Dr to diagnose your illness.
2. Pay the cost of his suggestion to smoke marijuana to cure your nausea or pain (Usually 175$ to 225$).
3. Grow up to 15 plants legally.

Do some research on whats called community gardens now ;)

Oh for sure I'm going to get my medical for my own personal use -- however I'm one of those people that LOVES to grow and always wants a bigger and bigger garden... i'm talking about setting up a professional grow to supply legal cannabis for fun & profit ;) I think those fees are not unreasonable to get a commercial scale license (i figured they would charge a lot more)

Something else I looked in to as well. I just don't think there is a "legal" way to grow copious amounts of weed at the moment.

But I am going to do a bit of research and see what I come up with. If there was a way I'm sure someone like R.J. Reynolds or Philip Morris would have already moved in a setup up shop selling cigaweed.

another things to consider is community gardens. The best way, 15 plants per person, 45 plants at most. So use 3 out of your allowed 10 people per community.

Thats not $84 in profit...Did you forget that 25% of the $84 goes to the state in taxes (privledge to grow tax)...then you have your B.O. taxes....thats just the state of Wa.

Now figure your Federal Taxes (30% no deductions allowed).. that $84 will loose around 50-60% to taxes... so mabey $35 or less a oz profit??? Less your cost to grow and harvest

In washington we can grow outdoor but our season ends in sept oct cause of rain....some summers are not decent enought to prevent bud root (Western Wash.)

.......................growing indoor it costs me $2-3 a g to produce without any laborers.....so hows a person gunna sell it for $3 a g to the proccesor???................

I would be thinking about growing hemp commercially on a farm.... not marijuana...then the need for importing hemp from foreign countries will stop and jobs would be made here
i'll do ya even better.

instead of $35 an ounce profit, how about half that? let's say $17.50 an ounce.

you can make about $80k for growing 250 pounds. that's not impossible at all. that's 4 big greenhouses and a trimming machine.

that's still an easy way to make a living. 100 plants a year? that's an easy way to make an easy living.

And the cost for the land? Cost of water, nutrients, labor, trimming machine, electricity, taxes on property...lets not forget that they will be taxing everyone at 3 stages, growth, sale and production.

add all that up and it's still not too much.

weed is pretty cheap and easy to grow.

Those are national companies that don't want heat from the feds. They will not move in until the federal issue is resolved it's too much of a liability until then. Once they do they're probably gonna kill the small farmers but until then, the market is ours :)

and you figure 2.5 pounds per plant? Yikes, that's a long vegetative state with no profit coming in no?
that's a summer. if you're making $80k a year, it's not a problem.

the whole secret now and especially as relegalization gets rolling will be to grow more. simple as that.

From what's been said here it's not quite that simple - processor (trimmer) pays the first tax, not the grower. Distributor pays the second tax when he obtains the processed flowers. End customer pays the third tax when they're sold. The person who's growing it is only getting taxed on their personal income if what was said above is correct. So the people growing and processing only pay the tax one time, not two. The other two tax stages are passed on after it's left the grower-processor's hands.

That's always been the nature of growing it's no different in legal vs black market. Answer is an indoor perpetual harvest on top of your outdoor grow so you are constantly harvesting, processing and selling. You can pull 2.5 pounds a month indoors easily - with LEDs I can do it without a massive bill as well -- and still pull your outdoor at the end of season for your big haul.

then there's also force flowering. you can get in 3 crops before your final summer crop is in.
