Thanks for getting back to me out on the road. I misread your previous post. Your build makes sense now. I see your heat per light is about 21 watts and that is what the 10" by 5" heat sink is capable of...passively cooled! I had not seen a bar put together like that...I like it. I will read up on the PPK system.

*And I would like to see more pics of your build when you get back!
here is a few pics of the build.this was the first one done.the others have 2 light switches to turn them off in pairs.

Thanks for post up the pics. You had mentioned that if you had to do it over again you would go with a single heat sink. But I think the 4 pieces and the L channel makes room for the drivers and A.C. and a clean symmetrical build. And those are some super-sized optics you have. Pleased pass on the details. Your GG4's look happy with your new light. Have you done any measurements at the canopy?

the lens are king brites 80 degree.i have not taken any readings .the frame is 4 1/4 by 1 inch aluminium.it is not l channel. that made for alot of drilling and self tapping screws.i just checked the temps and the heat sinks are running between 28 and 32 c .i just dug out a fan speed controller and cut the exhaust fan to half way to try and get the cabinet hopefully to 70 degrees.it is holding 66 to 68 degrees at full blast lights on and off.

I doubt it will get cold enough unless your room gets really cold like 10c/50d then yeah go for it but it won't help the roots, I would recommend getting a heat matt and placing them under your plant's, roots need a little heat too!

edit: your radiant heat from the cobs will get sucked out with the carbon fan going but heat mats will not as they will radiate upwards through the medium.

i cant change it.it was designed for extracting 1200 watts of hps heat out so it is total over kill for the cxb cob heat.thanks for the input!

i should have been a little more specific, works well for small cabinets builds.. and the heat mat is the savoir in winter 100% agree
