(Pictures) First Grow Prop215 Patiet Questions! Please Help

Hi everyone! I am a prop215 Patients for many years and i wanted to start a grow this is my first grow i have:

1x 1000 Watt Foldawing Reflector (Flowering)
1x ( 8 ) t5 Bulb Rack (Seedlings)
1x 600 Watt MH (For Vedging)


I had a couple of Question? i read most everything here and got allot of answers! but now am not sure? please help

I placed my seedling (15 of them) under the ( 8 ) t5 lights for (on 24hrs a day)on 5/18/09 as soon as the leafs came out they went under the lights on that date!:hump:. They are doing good i think? as you can see from the pictures what do you think?

I dont know if i need to lower the lights or not? the seedling are about a inch tall. (I placed a Rock wool cube next to one as you can see!) is this normal hight for seedling or is it the light to far? it also has a yellow leaf in one seedlings of the pictures is this over watering?

But my main Question is:

i thought the prossess was 1) Seedling get's 3-4 inches hight or so then they go to a vegroom or my (4x4 growhut) with a 600 watt MH for 18hrs ON 6hrs off until your plants reach the hight you want to make them mother plants/Or you placed them under a 1000watt bulb to start flowering. Is this the right way?


When do you start counting the days of flowering? first day of flowering etc..


1) When you see hairs in your bud plant after its been under the 1000watt HPS for a while?

2) Or the moment it goes from your vegroom to your 1000 watt HPS that day is the first day of flowering?

I have a 4x4 growhut with a 3x3 tray i wanted to place
9 plants 3-4 Inches high with 1 gallon buckets under a light 600watts MH.

How long do i keep my seedling to make a mother plant?
is 24hrs t5 bulbs mother plants? or do you use the 600 watt MH? and keep at what time?

hello fellow prop 215 patient!

i think you should just use the 600 watt right now and not even use the t5 light.

your light is a little high and your plants are stretching a little bit so make sure you lower it

dont count days when flowering the plant. every plant is a little different and will take longer/shorter. when the trichomes get amber color not clear they are ready to be harvested

I only got the T5's Because i thought you put the seedling under T5's First:cry: and after a while they were to go under the 600 watt bulb?.so no t5's Neede ok. Thank you for your help

So me Veging them for 24hrs a day is ok in the MH? or T5's? when do i use the 16hrs on and 8 off? is 24hrs a day good to do or should i always do 16 on and 8 off even threw seedling?

i never do 24/0, i like doing 16/8 because its more natural and you save a little bit on your electric bill :)

i've seen people have some weird outcomes when vegging under 24/0 but not all the time.

wow thank i am changing my timer right now thank your for your help!

i thought you were growing by soil? what do you mean "in my 40 Gal Resevoir"

you have some good nutrients. start feeding them slowly when the plant is about 8-12 inches tall, unless its a nute that makes your roots stronger, you can feed that right away. with young plants you want to feed them drastically less than what it says on the bottle. start at 25 percent strength and see how your plants react then move up to 50 percent and so on as desired.

Thank you, I am growing in A Drip System With Rock wool mix with pebbles. Thanks for your advise! do you suggest dirt better?

for some reason i think dirt tastes better. and there is no better taste than what grows under the sun. but drip systems seem to grow the quickest

Sounds like a nice set up get the lights has close has possible or you will end up with leggy plants.keep the seedlings moist don't water them every day it is unnessary.i would use a little causion place the seedling under the 600watt light till it gains a little height and width,you want a fan blowing inbetween the plants an light don't have the light on the plant to low at this stage the time over a week slowly move the light down they may look a little sad if they do don't worry they will recover.you could put them under the 600 watt light say for harf hour then one hour and so on till it become used of the heat change but if the grow room is done right all the temps should be spot on and it should thrive ,but you do need that light has near has possible within a week of them been in there.all depends on what height you have if the growroom has plenty of height i flower has soon has the plant reaches 1 ft tall,if you only have a small space then i would flower at about 6 ince.i would use the 1000watt lighting for flowering only this is what i do it is just more cheaper but belive me if you have a 1000 watt light you are gonna need a decent exaust fan to full that hot air out and a ossalateing fan to simmulate nature and make the stems more sturdy.i normaly at the start of flowering give the plants 24 hour total blackout this gains you a little time because it takes the plants metabolic system 2 weeks to swop from veg/flower but has soon has you take them out of the 600 watt vegging room this is a good time to flush the plants with water set at 5.0/5.5 then put them in the room with the 1000 watt light in get the light has near has you dare once the plants dry from the flush then put on a regament of flowering nutrients.a good tip is flush the plants at least 3 times during veg and the same during flowering not including the final flush at the end week 7 normaly if it is a 8 week strain i think that 1 week flushing is fine.good luck if this is your first grow and you are useing a 600/1000 watt lighting you will need it let us know how you get on.

yea u dont need the t5 u can use the 600 only but make sure its not to close to the seedings / plants so they dont burn looks good yea make sure u have some high powered can fans to control temps might consider aircooling especially for the 1000 good luck
