Queen of the house.
Inside the house she is mellow, playful and sweet.
Outside she is an accomplished "hunter." She spends all of her time killing anything she can get to....birds, mice, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, etc.... And has to bring it to the front door to show us.

I have always been a cat hater. My wife has converted me over the years. Living in the country they are necessary to help keep the small critters out of the house. They also don't need the same level of attention dogs do.

and drool :P
Not as bad as you might think - known as a "Damp" mouthed dog - if I tease him with a snack he might drip a bit but ok, after a big drink I chase him around with the swiffer for a minute or two.

Mastiff yes - they were originally bred in S. Africa around 1650 & my boy's father is from there.
Our winter is pretty chilly of late, we've had one good dump of snow that required me to fire up the King Quad, but just in the teens & 20's since then.
Our old rescue puppy (she's 17 now) has to be chased out of the warm house to do her business but in her defense she's old & has very short hair.

South African mastiff, if I'm remembering right...

Neapolitan Mastiffs are very interesting with their floppy skin. You do see these represented at the show.

The Dogo Argentino (looks kinda like an oversize white Pit) and the Fila Brasileiro (not in the AKC) are a cpl of real cool Mastiff breed's. Not to many in the US yet. A friend has a Fila. Gentile as hell to everyone the dog knows! You best KNOW the owner! Tough dog and it requires someone who knows how to be the alpha ! If you can't - DO NOT get interested in this breed!

Still, I've always had a real soft spot for Rotties and Dogue de Bordeaux (French mastiff). The Frenchy's are real deal drooler's!

Gotta learn to read the whole thread before posting! You had that in hand! Nice breed!

LOL...Ya, we have 2 large dogs indoors "lab and boxer" and one cat. 2 cats live outside. The Boxer refuses to go outside for any reason except going to the bathroom. She is spoiled ass rotten. She got extremely offended when I finally stopped letting her get on the couch where she spent most of her life.

Yeah mines the same way. She hates wet grass. Won't go in the yard to take a piss when the grass is wet. Fucking diva. Lol.
