Phish festival og kush bagseed from 2009..

So I have one question that's hard for me to search on here or in general. I have two seeds from legit og kush from a festival in california a few years back. I'm guessing the person who grew it stressed out the ladies and they produced a few beans. I've read trying to grow out beans like this is just going to set myself up for a hermie issue. What are the actual chances of me getting a female plant that produces kush that smells/ tastes like what I had with no seeds? Not the only project going on and I have used female seeds for years now. Sexing could be an issue even.. help. Is it even worth it from anyones experience?

You have a better chance knowing what its going to be then the average person with a bag of swag. Wont know unless you try is my advice. Most say just buy your seeds you want, that way you dont have to worry as much

go for it.... but odds are definitely against you..... and if it works (NOT stretchy, low quality female yield), then you got free beans. if not, then you just gain practical experience. cant get that from surfing forums.....

There are two options, one: a guy hermied out his plant and it produced seeds. Well, you got yourself some feminized seeds, congrats.
two: a guy pollinated his bud and you have a cross. Well, you got yourself some regular beans, congrats.

If the bud was dank grow it out and have yourself a good smoke in a few months!

A buddy of mine self pollinated a Reserva OG kush that was already femmed, I was expecting hermies in the offspring but there were none. Out of 37 of them at least half were good representations of the mom and a few were actually way better. The ones that were not as nice as mom were still damn nice by most peoples standards. I don't know what the structure of most OG's is like but mine has long internodes is really stretchy, responds well to topping early on and has rock hard super frosty stinky ass lemony nuggets with a skunky funk to them. Grow those out, even if you get a few beans they should still be great smoke!

Listen up boy and girls. These are likely feminized seeds if it was a self pollinated plant. The plant itself will be a female that GOES herm. You can just cut the balls off and it will continue to be a female plant. Keep a close eye daily and remove balls as they show up. Once you nip it in the butt, balls will stop showing up mid flower. Also the plant likely won't just GO herm, it's due to stresses that cause hermaphrodite in plants, these are just a little more predisposed to it. But not to worry! Like I said. It the balls are removed, will not be pollinated, therefore no more seeds (although it may not be a bad idea to let one set of balls stay to pollinate a portion of your plant for free seeds. Hermi pollen sacs don't carry enough pollen to ruin an entire crop, so it's safe. Straight males will produce enough pollen for MANY females to be pollinated)

Count yourself as blessed! Chances are it will just be bomb ass females. I had 8 bag seeds of Flo, all 8 were females. Only a few pollen sacs showed up which I promptly removed. As a previous poster stated, one of my phenos was even better than the mother, way better. The others were still stellar compared to any chron out there.

you forgot that the yield sucks...a 7 foot outdoor plant that was topped 3 or 4 times may get you 6 ounces almost any other strain on a plant that size that was topped you get 12-16 ounces....not a good plant to clone either

One thing Peyote didn't mention is that the plant can also hermi at the buds! The plant will grow little banannas out of the buds. But just like the balls you can just pluck them off with tweezers and most of the time they wont grow back! But you do have to keep an eye on them like mentioned before! Growing is easy, growing dank weed is the hard part! I wrote a letter to a reputable breeder after a few of my "Fem" beans hermied on me. They told me that all fem beans have a higher tendancy to herm out on ya more so than regular beans. I am currently growing some beans that were from a hermi mother so we will see how big of a pain in the ass this is! Just started so no real exp to tell you yet.

And someone else said something I thought was smart! "you just gain practical experience. cant get that from surfing forums....." And that sir is correct! Just fucking do it stop listening to people that talk out their ass most of the time. I tend to sometimes! LOL

You sir must not grow kush! Yeild isn't the only thing you look at when selecting a strain! Yes the yeild on 90% of Kushes sucks but the potency is very very strong! some growers prefer quantity over quality and some look for a ballance between the two. Different strokes for different folks. Also there are ways to grow kush to make those lil pigs put out enough to make it worth your while for a spot in the grow rooms!

Wont know unless you try, in fact you or nobody else will ever know unless you pop those beans. Might as well have been a seed you found in your closet since you didn't see it from its source.

The no seeds you can control yourself, it smelling like kush and all those other goodies are already determined. You have to try it to find out though. And if your some underage kid living at home, disreguard what i just wrote.

i just grew some reserva og kush...the strain blows...very good smoke i will say and a great taste..but i will never grow again...took way too long..november plant outdoors and mid/late november ...so it takes too long to finish and the yield sucks and it is not an easy strain to clone...the positives are was pretty mold and bug resistant and killer smoke.

The yeild don't suck. It not the best on a per plant basis but it does great per watt. If you take a 6 inch clone in put it straight into flower it will yeild about 10-15 grams, if you top that same clone you will get 15-25 grams with no extra veg time. That don't sound that great but I can put 35-50 of them under a 1000 watt and pull amazing yeilds due to its lankyness
