ph test nyc question

winding down second successful grow with AG but have had great difficulty thus far with finding a proper method to ph test rez water and nute mixes. all the liquid tests i see at the pet store are for aquariums and only go as low as 6.0. I recently purchased this LiveMeter active membrane thing from Mardel that I just stick in the reservoir, but it has spaced out indicator levels with gaps from 5.2 to 6.2 so its still a matter of guesswork from there. i would look into buying a ph meter if first I knew anything about them--and second, if I could find a store in NYC that sells that sort of thing. not really into online shopping.

if anyone could point me in the direction of another cheap and fairly accurate liquid test kit. the closer to brooklyn the better. thanks in advance for your help, and sorry if this is a constant question on these boards but im fairly new to them. i'll take all the advice i can get. especially in relation to ph, as thats been my biggest problem.

I usually use Amazon.com, they shouldnt be more that like 80 bucks at the most, i havnt lookin in a while tho, the stock AG nute tabs do buffer the PH for you, thats what i use, untill i but a PH tester

well im using 2 tsp big bloom in my nute mix right now, and am unsure/scared of how to combine aerogarden nutes with that. i heard the organic ingredients of the FF stuff can knock the ph down greatly. im just sick of sitting in my room staring into a gallon jug with this little ph live meter floating around in it trying to decide if its a light green or a dark dark yellow. i'll take a look on amazon. $80 dollars seems a bit steep for something like a PH pen no?

true. well i guess i'll take a look to see if they got anything simple at my neighborhood hole in the wall hydro store, and if not i'll cave in and use the plastic. alright thanks a lot for your reply. was a little scared I was going to get some downputting anti-AG death threats or something.

haha that was only because the Ag threads were in the same place as the hydro, not we all have our own sub forums :D
