my waters ph is too high, 8.9 to be exact. ive been using ph down that I buy from the hydro store, however the store is 120 miles away. I was told that I could lower the ph with white vinegar, so I tried it and it does work. my question tho, is this ok to do and safe for my plants. is there something better to use than vinegar. thank you for any help, I appreciate your time, thanks and god bless..............................

You can get ph down for a hot tub it's in powder form and you need very little and comes in a big bottle

I would recommend 100% lemon juice. Should be available at the grocery store. Not sure how the vinegar affects the plants but they'll let you know if they don't like it. Lemon juice - citric acid - organic if that matters to you.

Get a dual activated-carbon filter, TDS of that water must be insane. Otherwise use apple cider vinegar or citric acid. Blackstrap will help lower pH too. Are you growing in soil or what? In that case what you want to be more concerned about is the pH of that. Run-off will give you a ball-park and anything between 6-7 ish is fine.

I never pH anything, my soil is healthy and I use mostly rain-water so it's low TDS with near-neutral pH.
