PH lavel in water and Nutriants

i have a hydroponic set up and constantly struggle to get the right ph level

water from kitchen sink ph 4.0
bathroom sink 8.0

aslo i was told adding newtriants to the water would up the ph level when i add newtriants the ph level drops not ups is this normal

im using vitagrow part a + b

does any one else have this problem

also i can get the ph to about 5.4 then come back 12 hours later and be like 4 or evan 8 it up n down all the time i even tryed a different ph tester to make sure it wasnt just falty

Why would there be such a difference in pH across two taps in the same house?

lol it should be the same from all taps in the house. If you are having problems with fluctuations in P.h, don't check it for 24 hours. Anytime I make a P.H adjustment, I don't check it for atleast 8 hours. It takes a little while to get all the stuff mixed up good. I try to keep mine between 5.0 and 5.5. Hope this helps.

Most nutrients make ph drop. I wonder what kind of meter your using any chance of a pic?

got a digital one and one where u add liquid to small amount of water and it changes colour use both

Have you tested for the total dissolved solids from both taps? I would assume if one has a higher count, it is contaminated in some way.

I seriously don't understand how the pH could be altered like that between two different taps. Especially if the water is from the same source. Copper/plastic pipes should have no effect on the pH.

Maybe one is hooked up to some sort of filtration or reverse osmosis?

whoa 4.0 out of your kitchen? that doesnt sound right thats way to corrosive for an internal plumbing system, you would be having serious probs. 7.0 out of one faucet and 4.0 out of another on the same system is also impossible unless you have a acidic reaction in a supply line (not good) or a water softener with salt that is not functioning properly. but i bet its the ph tester....

PS your city or district would not allow that low of PH to keep it from eating up their system

lol ye nice name lol ... he wana fix the pipes i duno def no tester cos used 2 different testers my bathroom is a extention which was added years after the house was built if that helps but duno the water in kitchen is 4 and bathroom 8 su duno what happening

If your using the solution with chart make sure you do both readings in the same room with good light and a white background!!! Also i would alibrate your meter i think it is off. you should calibrate every time you change the batteries, also do you keep the meter stored in a solution?

i do both readings same room one after other on goes red and oher blue so its def the water and nothing else!

That is a trip. Well simple solution dont use that water, collect some rain water, buy some bottled water, or distilled from your local grocery store. Always ph the water before and after adding nutes. If you do use that water than you will need loads of ph up. I would have a plumber look at that shit though

You really need to get your plumbing checked out...wow 4.0 out of tap? Don't drink that water because there is definitely something wrong here.

if you start with ro water you won't have the wild swings in ph after you use your nutes, the best thing for me ever was switching to ro water after that I no longer have to chase ph... ahhhh.... so much easier now.

Maybe the water for the bathroom is stored in a tank and the sink is mains water, take some water from the sink and let it sit for 24 hours, no aeration, then test it, if you still get fluctuations then get the plumbing checked RO is reverse osmosis water it is passed through a very fine filter that removes any dissolved minerals in the water
