ok i mixed my soil with stuff i thought wood be best but i got ph of 7 an i need 5.5-6.5 for my out door grow i used this eco scraps https://www.ecoscraps.com/products/natural-organic-raised-bed-garden-mix and 3/4 bale of Pete moss and i threw in a single small bag of all purpose miracle gro and yes i have read all about using miracle grow.. but my ph is 7-8 it settled to 6.0 (after a HEAVY water)then raised back up.. so was it the eco scraps that is making it so high? and how can i fix this my plants are in the 5 gallon buckets with that soil at about 2 weeks old. i was thinking maybe adding pine needles to the top of the mix and/or making a tea with them?? i know i can water with vinegar for short time fix but can i lower it for well ever some how?

Anyone that uses "Miracle No" after knowing it's not good for WEED. Should be left to walk alone......

If you wanna stabilize the pH of your soil you need to add something that acts as a buffer, and that is usually a primary rocks lime or lava rock lime or dolomite. Anything containing Ca & Mg.
However, most of these limes can come in different pH (some neutral, some heavily alkaline)

A- way to be an asshole and contribute to the group B- if you do any kinda research you will find a large portion of people DO use mg not even mixed just straight mg C- some people cant afford high price soil mix or do not have access to it D-dont be a dick E- some people if growing outdoors and cant visit /feed good nutes to their plants want to add a little something for them to feed on. and just so you know this community is to teach, learn, and communicate with one another to grow and educate.

How did you measure soil pH?

And you have plants in this soil? Are they showing signs that they need to have diff soil?

I've never pHed or manipulated pH in a soil mix before, but i rarely mix anything without oyster or crab shell flour and/or a liming agent.

No need to get pissy. It's ALWAYS CHEAPER to do it RIGHT. You mixed it, I didn't.
