hello all long time no login and talk as if i know a lot of you peeps but today i got something a little different for y'all...PEYOTE SEEDS!

but id like to first say a big thanks to http://www.shamanic-extracts.com/ for offering and supplying peyote seeds world wide thank you!

and before many might think what a waste of time(20 years to grow) id like to state that this is more of a review for anyone who is like me and is searching for something they want but don't have a reference to back it how safe it is to acquire these in the US(Note: these were sent to my home with my name on package i wouldn't have it any other way!)

well let me stop typing and let the pics tell the story for me but yea they came in and so far I'm happy

join me as the story develops and we will see how healthy there specimens are and if it worth your time investing thanks! :D

over all spent 8$ for x10 peyote seeds and 4.50$ for x10 san pedro seeds from the site and spent the extra 25$ option on shipping & tracking number(the tracking number didn't work but i don't care at this point) so my overall cost for this was $37.50 ma by way over priced in my opinion but id pay that any day after attempts to locally source and I'm as close as you can get from the natural hunting ground

also id have to say stealth wise nothing far as that goes but packaging wise and this is important i gotta say these seeds were well protected as the packages had foam lining on the insides of both

the package...i would show the front but im sure u can guess what the shipping label looks likeIMG_0206.JPG

a package within a package?
IMG_0207.JPG

within that package ...the goods :D(note i got more peyote seeds than labeled but y'all will just get 10 :P)

Cool. I'm keen to watch this. You doing indoor or outdoor? You'll need alot of head room for the san pedro.

I have some Peruvian torch that's been growing for years. Best thing is, you can just keep taking cuttings :)
were i am located at in US ill be starting indoors moving them outside for the summers and bring them back in during winters...ill be grafting half of them to the san pedro and the other half are going to grow as natural as i can mimic it thanks :D

Will you eventually graft onto pereskiopsis or similar catus or just wait the 20 years for a button? If you could get a grown one to cut and graft youll speed up the yield and harvest some what...

hmmm i guess i didn't study enough i have read that it speeds up the process and can produces bigger yields but mainly speeds up the process by a significant amount you can still eat immature cati that's only 5-10 year old but the older the better is all...and yes actually i am going to wait the 20 years either way its what i wanted you must of missed were i stated this earlier for this reason alone...if i wanted it for the alkaloids id just buy san pedro and extract a concentrate and that is too easy... also i can find dried buttons in Texas but i wanted seeds and couldn't source them while i was there so i had some extra cash figure why not i grow plants of all kinds and this will only compliment my garden :) but yea thats my plans if i survive the day they are edible ma by ill consider nibbling on one but ehh not really my concern at the moment just wanna see how well they are...planted em yesterday will update soon as i can

When I did peyote in the early 1970's we bought buds by the ounce. The buds were about quarter size and the topside had little hairs growing between the folded-over leaves. NOTE -- Be sure to remove as much of the hairs as possible before ingesting. I was told that the hairs contained a strychnine-type of chemical that would fuck up your stomach for hours. A favorite method of removing the hairs was to roast them over a fire. Peyote was/is notorious for being rough on the stomach and hair removal helps a lot. Just remembered, the most palatable way for me to do a bud was to grind it up and mix the dust with peanut butter.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Just Remembered II - Did a lot of traveling back in the day and mostly saw peyote in the southwest. From say Texas to Arizona. So maybe a hot dry climate is best for growing.

"nibbling on one" won't do you much good. Figure four or five medium sized ones for a moderate trip.

And twenty years is way more than you need. Take care of them and you will get some nice lobes at ten.

Growing them is not a test for your soul. Walking in a straight line, not deviating in any way, in the Sonoran desert and coming across them is the test of your soul.

This is simply a test of patience and color of thumb.

But by all means grow them.
i respect your opinion... but my elder who is long dead once told me my statement so im going to follow his so far nothing popped up :(

nah its the real stuff, you have to search for it by misspelling the name. Misspell the genus-species name a bit and you will find it.
