Perlite and hydroton hempy style

Well hello all. This is my first grow and I must say it started out very challenging. Here's a little background. Strain: Caramelicious Lights: 4 cfl 46watt 6,500K Temps: 72°F (low) to 92°F (high) I know too much of a swing. RH 43% steady. Seed sprouted on 1/16/16 and from there I transplanted her into a 5 gallon DWC about a week after. Found out that was too soon so I put her in a cup 100% perlite until I got good growth. Now she is in her final resting place but I want to know from some of the pros how does she look? Leaves look a little yellow for my taste but hey, I'm a newb so what do I know. I believe I will continue with my journey here as we go along. Thanks for looking! :bigjoint:1454101502197-1586185114.jpg 14541015314832040841789.jpg

@Resinhound thanks for the reply. I thought that might be it but it's always better to get a second opinion. Yeah the swing in temps is way to much. I had 6 bulbs in there but removed 2. Hopefully that will only give me a 10°F swing that I can manage. Question I don't have any cal-mag and don't know when I will be able to get any, is there something from like Home Depot or Lowes I can grab?

Epsom salts, 1/4 tsp per gallon, that will clear up a mag problem..But you should be feeding it a balanced veg formula, with those minerals included.

I am actually feeding her GH performance pack at 1/4 strength. Maybe that's the problem, I'm not feeding her enough?

You should invest in a ec meter, doesnt have to be expensive. But you need a good reference point, this will allow you to accurately monitor your nutrient concentrations.
Yeah I do havre a ph and a ppm meter too. Ph is at 5.8 and ppm 350. I was wondering was the ppm enough.

Ya you should be fine under 1ec at this point, what water are you using and whats the base ec,ppm can be a confusing term as its not universal.

The good thing about growing in perlite is you can make fast adjustments,I really like the perlite hempy style grow im starting one in a 3 gallon bucket as we speak:) however mine is started from seed.

I started with the seedling stage of gh nutes schedule as I didn't want to bump too much. Light distance is about 2 inches from the top of the plant

I wouldnt worry too much about it,just up your ppm a bit probably dont exceed 1ec id say,do a light feed volume wise and keep an eye on it for changes over next couple days. Its up to you but I suggest journaling this so you can keep track of all the changes you are going to have to make.

This plant is 9 days from seed,it gets .5 ec feeds. Its in the same area as my flowering plant so humidity isnt always the best for it but my temps are stable 77-81 at least.

Hey I have the same temp/rh meter. Lol. 9 days... that's reassuring because mine is 2 weeks today and I thought she was way to small

Well you really cant beat these little cheap combo meters, specially with the highest and lowest tracking.I think this girl is in a little rooting stall atm..building roots in that big pot.Shell explode soon

Here's an update for anyone interested. Not much happening but a little magnesium deficiency but with a little help from @Resinhound fed her and she seemed to love it. Here is a pic of the cab I built and a couple of the little girl. 14542721626021186701924.jpg 1454272194307-1673663437.jpg
