Im looking into getting new reflectors, ive always grown open wing, but these ditsy reflectors seem to waste alot of light. Anyone grow with parabolic refelctors and vertical bulbs? Seems like most efficent way imo. Any input anyone?

g'day Jay,
They are great for vertical 1000w & 600's but they have to much spread
for 400w imho.

So you think the parabolic reflectors with the vertical bulb is most efficient? Do they have a blind spot in middle?

parabolic reflectors spread more but penetrate light less so it depends on
your application whether or not its the most efficient.

The normal open winged reflectors does a great job for wat they are made
for but ur right, going vertical is more efficient if that suits ur application.

I talked to a guy who used Parabolics and swore by them. The good LEC's have the bulb pointing down and vertical bulb also is cooler on plant tops.

I am planning on testing a 315 W LEC kit with the bulb, ballast and the LEC bulb adapter with a parabolic fixture. The total cost will be about $280.
