Oxycodone from 2003 - Is it still good?

I just found my old prescription bottle of 500mg oxycodone w/apap 5/500.

There are 11 capsules, and they are huge. They were prescribed in 2003 and said to discard after the same date in 2004. 1 year is a pretty arbitrary figure to pick if it were to be perishable. I think that means they're still okay.

Does anyone know if they're still good after 5 years?

Probably not the greatest idea, it may have lost some potency after sitting around that long. But if it's been sealed in a pill bottle and doesn't look mottled or moldy it should be fine. Those expiration dates are more for marketing than consumer safety.

they will be fine but they arent 500mg oxycodone that would probably kill you even if you were a hardcore dope fiend its 5mg oxycodone 500mg acetamenophine (spelling?) basically 5mg oxyconting and 500mg tylenol should be ok if you dont have a big tollerance otherwise youll get sick from tylenol before you get high on the 5/500s
