Outdoors In The Northeast

Lookin great people, It's been a while since I uploaded any pics so I took some today. Some are hard to see due to all the other green foilage around. They all survived Arthur quite well so that was a relief.

Your plants look good burner. I hope they keep going good for you.
I'm definitely gonna do some autos next year.

At this point I wouldn't bother doing anything fancy in terms of soil, as you only have 3 weeks max until flowering starts. Go with a promix soil, or even a pre mixed bag soil.

Since you'll only be able to check every couple weeks I'd suggest planting in ground. That way you won't have to worry about your plants drying up as quickly as they would in pots. Hit them with a good fertilizer when you can. That should work.
thanks for the reply....

I decided to go with a mix of Pro-mix, WC, Epsoma Garden Tone, Soil Moist and vermiculite....I will be going back occasionally to top dress with Botanicare Guerrilla Flower Feed, and tea mixes.....I'm not adding any lime because from what I've read on here is that you don't want to use lime outdoors ?

Will post up some pics of my plants soon even though they are nothing like some of the plants these pros are growing...Next year will hopefully be bigger and better for me...This year is mainly a learning experience....

Sounds like a good plan to me. I've never heard of not using lime in outdoor mixes. Acts as a good source of calcium/magnesium for your plants, but maybe I'm missing something.

If you pull any sort of harvest your first year it'll be a success. You're right in saying it's a learning experience. It's my third year and I'm still learning!

Good luck with the rest of your season.

OK guys....got my soil finally together...here's a few pics....I found Camouflage spray paint at Wally World though it looks olive green...guess you can stick real leaves and stuff in it when it's wet to make it more realistic....

Had to take the outdoor plants out of my grow cab so I didn't screw up the two in that cab that are currently flowering....Made a temp veg room in the cellar with splitters and extenders for the cfls....

Heading tonight to the grow site....Awwwwww Yaaaaaaaaaaa ! ! !

Hey bro, if you have been vegging them under cfl's, I highly suggest hardening of your plants first. The hot July sun will fry your plants and kill them. The cfl's aren't a hot enough light to acclimate the plant as a m/h would. I just don't want you to leave them in full sun the very first day and show up a week latter wondering why they are all dead. It reguires an extra trip to your spot but worth it, imo. Just put them in the shade for 2-3 days then go back and move to sun. Even if they survive the stress from it will cause them to slow way down and at this time in the game.........not to mention possibly to hermie.

ya I was going to...But someone told me to put them out in the shade only for a day before they go in the hot sun ....

So that's what I had planned around...I hope a day is sufficient cause after that I am pretty much busy working for the rest of the week,.... I mean I might be able to extend the days for hardening it off but it would be a big PITA.

Even a day is ok with the weather this week as mentioned. I was just warning about putting straight into full sun with the issues you have had all ready.

Hey, to all brothers and sisters of the Northeast and Canada. It's a wonderful time of the year where some of us are seeing flowers. Also time for an update on the Ladies. Got out and got a nice pic this afternoon and the girls are just loving life !!(:
JackHerer to the left, Church in the middle, ( both just coming into flower ) and my AMS plant, closest to me, which has been in flower for the past 12 days.
Your plants are looking good everyone. We have people here just starting out, people somewhere in the middle and growers that have been at it for many years. Not to mention all the different strains people are growing outdoors. Lets keep the thread going and keep it about sharing, learning, and friendship. Keep those pictures coming, no matter how long you've been at it, and some of those nice bud shots should be in our very near future. :weed:

Those ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^are some of the nicest looking plants that I've seen in a very long time. I swear an artist couldn't have done a better drawing.:clap::clap::clap::clap:

We all have some nice looking plants but they don't stand ground to those in my opinion, and I have a very high opinion for my own. I want to thank you for starting a place for us all to enjoy each others grow in this region. I always say we can hold or own, but damn your proving it.

Very nice plants indeed... Those stalks must be as big as a 12 oz can!

Several of mine have also started flowering. Dime sized buds on one of them which is strange for mid July, but I'm not complaining...

Any early estimations on what you'll yield/are hoping to yield?

Thanks for the heads-up Jimmer !

Well we got out and dug the holes...What a PITA...I think they local soil is reallllll good...there was so much new vegetation since we last specked it out a few months ago we almost couldn't find it...Hopefully the marijuana likes the soil too....

It was rough though hauling the soil through deep brush and prickers...Hauling the water and plants....I was so hot and winded from digging I had sweat pouring off me...then my allergies were acting up too, and I was getting attacked by mosquitos, lol.....Fun stuff !!! Really thinking next year I might do a swamp grow...I hate digging !

I got the plants in a well shaded spot...We will go back tomorrow to put them in the ground....Not sure if it's good or bad but they don't have direct sunlight all day long...Might be good for the hardening process anyways....

Like I said, this is my first real whirl at outdoors....I got 7 plants...Even if I get like an ounce per plant I'd be happy.

I'll post pics tomorrow night after we get the plants in the ground.

I'm probably looking at at least 5 lbs. total dry weight, but with another 2 months to go, I never count my chickens before the eggs hatch. My AMS plant is early this year as well, but like you, no complaints.
