Outdoor Auto's on the East Coast

Hey fellow growers, just thought I'd start thread to help me keep track of my season. Hopefully we will learn a few things along the way, prolly more me than you lol. Feel free to comment, ask questions or make suggestions.
Anyone else growing auto's outdoors is more than welcome to post some pics, I am trying to find a strain that will give me 3oz or more without breaking the bank on nutes and soil.
This is my third year growing and prior to this I have only grown 1 strain of auto, which was white widow auto from pyramid seeds. I averaged 2 oz per plant last year with 3 plants. One plant got topped accidentally while trying to lst, another had its stemmed chewed off by a slug. I stuck what was left of the top in a pot and it eventually to my surprize rerooted and still yielded 1.75 oz. Anyway that was last years excitement, onto this year. I have some pics of last years gong show, if anyone wants to see them just ask

Heres the 2015 lineup, all autos

Dinafem - Blue Amnesia XXL x2
Dinafem - Kush n Cheese x2
Bomb - Big Bomb
Heavy Weight - High Density freeby

Missing from the pics is 1 kush n cheese that was sprouted directly in a 4.2g root pouch.

The front row are about 2 weeks old here, the back 2 are a day old.


Here's the 3 oldest at 22 days so a week after the first pic.


Still 22 days old but in the final pots, the camo pots are 7g and black pot is 4.2g.

I tried autos here on the east coast once. Animals wouldn't leave them alone, kept tipping over the potters. Ended up sticking them in the ground. Most were eaten. That's why I just said fuck it and went with normal plants after that. They tend to out grow most vermin problems around here. That was years ago though. Havent grown outdoors in a while now.

I'm trying some autos outdoors this year myself for the first time just one strain though northern lights auto's.
They are three weeks old now, it looks like yours maybe doing a little better than mine.

Right on Cuttdogg. are they in the ground? What breeder are they from? Keep the updates coming so we can compare.

I found my first preflowers today on the oldest Blue Amnesia xxl. So thats day 25 from sprouting.
Should have 2 more in the next few days. Have a bit of cold snap here the next couple days.

I'm not sure the breeder but I got them from Nirvana seeds.

And yes they're outside in the garden now. They look really healthy but yours look like they are growing faster. It's probably a wee bit colder where I'm at.

That looks like a pretty good setup, are all the boxes gonna have auto's in them? It's down to 6*C (43f) right now, so that should slow mine down lol. The last 2 weeks of May were pretty nice though.

No I have some other goodies to, check out my master Kush.

I had it nice This week it was in the mid to high 60s during the day and between 40 and 45 at night all week long.

Is the master kush from nirvana also? I've got three photo plants in the ground too.
So wasn't a great week for the plants, we had highs of 8*C and rain the first half of the week. I saw pre-flowers on the Big Bomb yesterday, which was at 28 days. Still waiting on the High Density which is suppose to be an 8 week strain,,,ya right not outside at least. It was a freebie and heavyweight brags about their yields. I will say she has been stinky since about 2 weeks old and seems to be holding her own size wise compared to the other two.
I will post some pics of the ladies over the weekend.

Honestly I do not know where the master Kush came from I got clones from my friend

Day 30 for three, Day 18 for 2 and Day 13 for 1. Like i said earlier it was a tough week with some chilly temps and to top it off there is a frost warning tonight. They seem small to me, hopefully things pick up soon. Suppose to be a pretty good week once tonight's over with.

Just a quick update. The High Density finally showed a couple of pistils yesterday, which was day 31. I will be putting the last two in their final pots in the next couple of days.

Very nice display of training techniques here. Best of luck with the yield! I'm in. Looking forward to the final transplant their.

Thanks Trippy, not sure what training techniques you are referring to but since you mentioned it I thought I would try it on my last two transplants. I put them in the pots on their side and used a couple of garden staples to keep them down.

So today was the dreaded auto transplant day and yes i'v read all the warnings about transplanting autos. Due to the family's summer schedule I had to start them a bit early and I can't be running around my backyard with 5 and 7 gallon pots every time bad weather hits. We get frosts into the first week of June. So that is why I started 5 of 6 in solo cups.

The transplant went perfect, none of the rootball crumbled as there were just enough roots to keep it all together.Both rootballs looked about the same.

We had a great week, warm to days and warm nites. The girls took advantage and doubled in size I'd say. Here's a pic of the the three oldest, day 37 and startin to form flowers.

I just popped 3 royal queen northern lights autos outside. I've never grown outdoors or autos before... Theyvgerminated and sprouted in just a few days all outside and in their final 5 gallon buckets. But they seem to have slowed considerably since... Today would be 8 days since I planted them do they seem too small? I have been bringing them in at night cause it's cold and they're getting 12-16 hours of direct sun a day... Thanks! All 3 are the same size....

Hey Jren, i am far from an expert but it looks fine to me. They spend a couple weeks growing roots first.
Keep posting pics of them.
I am happy with rqs so far. I have a couple of their photo plants goin, special kush and special queen.
