Out Of State Rec - CA

Okay so the information on this is a bit confusing. It seems that as a CA MMJ patient I should be well within my right to visit collectives/dispensaries in MI. As a "qualified visitor" i.e. a visitor who has a MMJ rec from another state where I am permitted to use MMJ. It also seems that most will not be willing to risk an out of state ID in their shop. Anyone have any advice on this? Anyone have personal experience? I will be visiting family in the Detroit area and I would like to know if I will have access to safe meds in MI.

the mi mmj law accounts for reciprocity w other medical states, but u may want to call around first if you're looking to find a dispensary, not all cooperate. maybe u can find a caregiver or alternative. Just fly with it wld be my advice. What airline are you using?

I have a MI hard card and when I was coming back from AZ last month I drove through Colorado and no place would sell me seeds or clones.

Jerome that's strange. Where you in medical dispensaries rather than a recreational one? I know CO requires medical patients to be citizens. I believe for rec use you only need to be 21+

Abe I'm not worried about the airline and the airport I am leaving from is friendly to patients... or rumored to be. I'm not sure I want the potential hassle that comes with it though.

Do you need a certain # of post before you can PM here?

I called dispensaries. They said dried flower was ok but them providing a non card holder a way to grow their own was a no no. They also said my MI med card was no good there.

I had a friend with an Oregon med card visit me in Michigan a few months back and he had no luck at two dispensaries. Technically there is reciprocity in the law, but I'm not sure anyone knows how to confirm if out of state cards are legit so they don't mess with it. One place denied him flat out and the other called whatever office or department runs shit in Oregon to confirm his card was legit, but the Oregon people wouldn't give up any information on patients and rightly so. Unless things have changed or you can find a place that accepts your card as legit, you might be out of luck.
