I firmly believe that concentrates are going to save the outdoor growers. When the "wave of barcodes" descends on th industry, I think the outdoor folks are going to be hard pressed to move their product. I mean we ALL know where the majority of that flower goes. It was funny, there were so many outdoor grows in Bend. I was like... where the fuck are you going to move your bud? Supposedly, there is a market for super cheap bud in bend. It is a VERY different market in pdx.

But yeah, the food stamp crew, the dumb fucks, the scammers. All the people that drive down the price of flower. I'm hoping they all dry up and fly away.

What is funny about the process however, is the STAGGERING amount of disalusionment. People starting up.. having grown like one fucking crop... there is going to be people that make a lot of money, and there are going to be even more that loose a lot of money. I think many are in for an ice bath of reality.

Buying a warehouse full of lights.. LED lights... ass the ass clown next to me was soooo excited to tell me about DOES NOT make you a grower.

I contacted shop "X" in Corvallis about them purchasing some of my product.... they are only willing to give $1200 to $1300 a pound .... no way.
And by the way I am not new to this.
Ever wonder if those guys on craigslist get busted? selling the container ....not the weed itself ? any one have any stories on this? I do know that there was a guy buying up some good weed around here and dropped phony Benjamin's.... keep your eyes open if you see $100 bills.

The consumer is stupid. The consumer will line up at the counter and say "shut up and take my money". Quality is not important to the cannabis industry or we would see quality in Colorado... which we don't. Commercial grows are "failing" but they succeed because the idiot consumer.

"Success of a grow" could also factor in wages for the employees to match the performance of the grow. It does not exist because its just a minimum wage position to work at a dispensary with a line out the door of people yelling shut up and take my money.

My fingers are crossed for Oregon and that it works out for you guys.

These guys that do bussiness like that will be gone very soon and this is why..Joe blow goes in to get cheap pot from them, the pot is swag and joe never goes back because he has 150 places to go to now, good growers will stop taking them any pot because they don't pay a good price and growers have a lot of places to sale pot to now a days so the good grower stops going to Mr CHEAP ASS..Now the word is getting out about this guy, so all he gets is subpar growers with shit weed, 1/2 of these kind of growers will all be gone because they wont be able to keep growing paying all the fees because they have shit weed. We are still not where any one pays more for better weed, but at least you can get rid of it because its better then others and soon we will get more just like wine people do. By this time every one will have locked down who they work with and who they tell to FUCK OFF. And it will get harder and harder to find good weed because you treated good growers like shit NOW…Growers have never needed shops to sale there weed, lots of markets to get rid of it. But shops will need good growers, they just are way to stupid to see any of that yet…DONT WORRY THEY WILL!

It's also worth keeping in mind that prices are going to go down (massively), I'd be shocked if you could get 1200+ a pound as a grower by this time 2017. Retail (kind) prices will likely stabilize in the 100-125/ounce price point in oregon by mid to late 2017. At least that's my prediction, we'll see how it goes (I live in mormon land so anything I want to smoke I just grow myself and am not too bothered with how much everyone else pays or doesn't pay ;) )

There's a reason growers and dealers who sell were against legalization, and to make their fears a bit more valid unlike CO and WA OR's plan was setup to compete price wise with the black market... If other states also legalize it will further decrease prices. Fingers crossed I'll live long enough to see it priced like tobacco.

I think the demand for quality is regional. In bend dispensories they have tons of outdoor and are selling shit for super cheap. In portland however, there is maybe one or two jars of "sungrown" bud. Thing is, if you pull out schwag bud at a party in oregon your laughed at. The shit just doesn't sell here.

Shops are still buying pounds for 19 here for top shelf. I think the price will always fluctuate but I would guess that more outdoor growers are going to go out of business than good indoor.

You have a mountain of outdoor buds in RFID tagged bags.. what are you going to do with them? You are NOT going to be able to sell then to guys in RVs headed to the east coast.

It will be interesting for sure

Re: legallyflying: I keep hearing that (outdoor is crap compared to indoor) but if you take the same quality genes and a grower worth their salt, outdoor is no less powerful (or tasty) than indoor, it's just people making assumptions from what they've been told or due to their only experience with outdoor weed being either crap weed or illegal grows that aren't taken care of properly.... I only grow for myself and my close friends who come by to smoke, so perhaps we're just weird... But from this past outdoor grow where I did the same plants inside first then outside: I like the stuff I grow outside at least as much as the trial runs of the same girls (clones) indoors with a *MUCH* larger harvest outside (though also MUCH longer...) The only thing that would make me take it back inside is the zoning/laws that Don mentioned (in theory those zoning laws are not legal, but that doesn't mean they'll not be enforced until a high court says to stop. Mind you, you'll still get people with insanely high thc grows that only grow inside so it's hard to compare, but if you're able to get a clone of their stuff, try growing it outside (and pay attention to said grow!) to see for yourself....

Are dispensaries still able to buy flower from growers? I was selling to a dispensary before the new rules took place (jan 4th) but i haven't got my next batch tested yet and was wondering if i was even still allowed to do it.

Doubt it. I think you will need the license to grow for them. Think I saw somewhere that there was over 200 applications the first couple of days.

Medical places can still buy extra flowers from growers, the applications are for the recreational growing and won't be processed and approved for awhile yet let alone grown and harvested.
