Opinions on 50x50x79 Tent and Which Group Of LED Lights Are Best?

Why would you want want just for vegging? These have a veg and bloom switch. Both on at the same time will just be full spectrum.
Hey do you run full spectrum on your viparspectra for veg and bloom. My first Vipar doesn't have that option but my 2nd and 3rd do. Was just wondering what other VIpar users use. Thanks b ODG

Yeah, no reason not to, except to save a little bit of power.

Well I like an ending to a story and after much thought and consideration I opted for the Millani-Mini, because no one else has one I we can compare grow results. I think HDL's is the 4 ft. model. This lights a 3x3 veg and 2x2 bloom. Mine may bloom in the Greenhouse, but I'll have an option to bloom in the booth. Everybody's situation is completely different, I've discovered:

Good tent.

They go up in about 15-minutes. Tonight I'll go inside the booth, closed, and turn on the shop lights looking for leaks. Marking them, if any, with a felt-tip marker and bossing this booth around till it conforms to my liking. I drowned every zipper with Blaster silicone spray to start off on the right foot. The mfg. recommends Vasaline petro-jell on the zippers to lube and quieten.
This little guy is going to hang from the cross-members.

Some pics of the tent highlights. There's a top 10" max. double-collar and twin-rope cinch. I put the 6" fan in there blowing upwards.
There's (3) wide, bottom flap-vents. There's one bottom 4" vent collar, and there's one top 4" vent collar that I've run wires through. Both are double-collar, double rope cinch sleeves.
The door folds back and then held in place by Velcro strips.
The two 6" fans keep the tent cool. The vent test will be with the NewLight-Mini.
The fans now run at 0.23 amps, down from 0.3 amps.
And, come to find out, the 6" clip-fan has a standard number in the fan industry: # 0610

Here's what I'm running: The NewLight-Mini. No variable switch. All the LED diodes run all the time. Not even an On/Off switch. Plug it in a leave it burning. No more bulbs to buy. No heat. No blowers needed. And if I forgot to say it, NO HEAT.
Here's the pics and a copy of my letter to the seller asking for more dope on their product and how it might fit into my plan of fast-tracking a September-January veg & bloom. The query sent:
Hello,
I received my Mini a couple of hours ago, thank you! I have a question about Veg and Bloom lighting: I found no flip-switch for Veg or bloom modes, and wearing polarized sunglasses, I can see that all LED's are glowing. One color per run, alternating.
Does the given 3x3' footprint for vegetating mean that anything in that area will vegetate?, and that when the plant is ready (rushed by light deprivation) the plant will begin responding to "bloom rays" - and because the plant's are tricked into thinking it's "bloom-time", they disregard the still ongoing "vegs rays"?
I presumed there would be two banks of lights veg & bloom controlled by a switch.
I have the Mini on now in a 50x50x79 tent with one 8" mini-fan blowing out the top 8" tent-vent, and another 8" mini-fan blowing shop air into the tent from bottom 8" vent . The temp. in the shop was 81-degrees, and the tent temp with the LED on and fans set to "low" speed, was 80-degrees!
There was a 6-degree increase over outside temp, when using a single T-5 x 2' bulb assembly to test "temps", before the LED arrived. I don't want heat, or blower noise, or a big electric bill.
I plan on installing (6) clone Solo cup plants (tomorrow). Do you think this is too many to veg and bloom, if I keep the fan leaves trimmed at 13 weeks? They grow cola after that. I prefer cola to leaving all the leaves on until 2-weeks before harvest. I've been told my everyone else that this is wrong! That they leave fan leaves on until two weeks before harvest, but look at the plants that grow in non-irrigated Morocco. They're cola-sticks. No fan leaves at all, only "cola fan" leaves. I leave those leaves where they are...but the huge stem water leaves I removed at 13 weeks. We'll see how they perform when burned.
I also have a SecureGreenhouse that has (4) plants ready for harvest in late September. I am planning to have the tent grow follow and harvest by late December.
Any suggestions as to how I can augment my green house, with this tent and Mini, other than my current plan, would be appreciated."

I should hear back by tomorrow (Wednesday 8/24/16). Yikes the photo post feature was disabled. Well... visualize it! :p

I found this for $150. shipped to keep the shop cooler than the outside air, so the cooler shop air is pumped into the tent. Today's shop air was 81-degrees. After the solar fan is installed, I expect an 8-10 degree shop temp drop on any bright sunny day. DC motor. 5-yr. motor warranty. 10-yr. panel.

Spoke with Kevin, a principle at NextLight about the Mini. He said:
Light put out by Mini is full spectrum. It has no veg or bloom switch. The China grow lights have the switch, but it means that the LED's are throttled from full spectrum, and when people try and grow using the Mini pattern they are disappointed by the final results (budly-ness) at harvest.
He said place the LED panel for Vegging at between 24" to 36" above the clones and measure approximately when the light footprint is 3x3', then check you plants response and move the light up or down accordingly, or until the plants shows stress from too much light. Ditto for when it's time to flower, lower the LED panel to 8" to 12" above the canopy, and measure out a 2x2' square as a starting point.
On their par page on NextLights site, you can see that peak growth is in the 650-800 zone. And, that's all I've got. Wish I could post the pics of the panel, but you can imagine what they look like.
Going out for Tokyo and Pez clones to test out in the tent. Peace and goodwill. Camping happy now. :)

Your gonna wanna get a better inlet and outlet fan. those are definitly losing air pressure and definitly not effiecnt. If you need to pull air in and out id just get a couple cheap 4 in inline fans and then a booster for the outtake shouldnt run you that much. I use 3 600 watt leds in my tent its a big bigger then yours and im running 14 clones on there 4th week of veg and id say its definitly a good idea to get a few units and spread out the spectrums. have a good one!

Actually until I turned off one of the 8" fans, as I was keeping the tent 2-degrees cooler than the outside air. Got cocky. Yep!
I think these two, 0.23 amp pulling marvels will do the job in tandem, Jswett. The thing about blowers, even 4" ones, is that they make noise and use gobs of e-lect-tricity! Now I'm a Scot, and yes, a thrifty Scott, but not a denying Scott. I will cave-in to common sense. I'm going to try to use my two 8" fans until crop devastation beats me down to change. That'll be fun!

Kevin Vicario, a designer and principal at nextlight gave me these pointers for LED panel positioning in Veg and Bloom states:
"Whether you're doing 16/18 or 24-sunlight vegging, keep the light panel 24-36" above the canopy. For bloom-stage, keep the light panel 8 - 12" above the canopy."
••••
In another of my failed experiments, last night, after the (7) clones had been in the GH semi-direct sunlight all day, and did well - I decided that I could save off our electricity bill and only use (1) one 8" fan blowing tent air out the top, and turn the bottom 8" vent fan off. Bad idea. This morning, the tent was 4-degrees higher than the outside air.
Warning: Don't let your tent air get hotter than the outside air.
One young Pez had collapsed from the stress. Unconscious, he was removed with the others from the tent and placed into the GH where a fan will move air over him until he revives.
••••
Poor little (probably over-watered, not heat stroked) Pez. According to grower/dispensary owner, now long-haul truck driver Ron Chang: "Pez is a sativa with no ceiling".
So, rise and shine...you little creep. Go thrive!
•••••
The two 10" intake and exhaust ports are above each other. In the pic above of the tent. See where that blue towel is covering that deep cardboard box? That's the inlet vent where the 8" fan is shown blowing air in. (I turned that fan off last night, wrong!)
But, with both fans going, you've got air blowing across the bottom of the tent, putting the plants in slightly less than the normal wind conditions on a mountain valley in Afghanistan.
With both 8" fans going, the tent sides pull-inward slightly. There's air a'movin in there! Look at the tent! You can see it's ribs!
Of note: You can see that the yardstick reads 28" above the floor. That's suppose to be from the top of the canopy! I need to move the LED panel up about another 5". Will do so today.

Actually, under normal conditions in the tent through the night, with both 8" fans let on "low", the outside air was 70-degrees this morning and the tent's was 74-degrees. All the clones did fine, because I raised the LED panel to 36" minus 8" for the height of the plants and that leaves 28" of distance between the bottom of the panel and the tops of the clones. Poifect!
The plant is Blue Dream. It went to flower early. I called another bud blue dream earlier, it is Fire OG.
The interior solar light is Gama Sonic model GS-16LD (amazon) It has the nicad and alkaline compartments so you can use either battery source. Used in Europe for centuries. Highly reliable w/ a shade-sun solar screen and thinking a 10-yr. warranty. 24 or 48 LED option switch, so the light can be miser-ed to last, if used for tent maintenance work. The panel power cable is only 10-feet though. No patch extension cords that I know of. Times change though and things improve, more than not. So check it out.
I know most of you have been worried-sick over whether little Pez made it through the night. He did revive witih a crutch and being put into the shade for a few hours. LED fainted.. My fault.

I added Snow yesterday to the mid-morning feed. Today, Saturday evening, I can see a greater number of trichs and an increased dusting of crystals spreading down the bud-leaves. I almost snapped a pic, but will wait until a full day of sun tomorrow, and then shoot the same Fire and B.Dream. It's impressive for a one-day systemic result. A quick scan looked like all of them were producing more glass, but I was losing my light. Interesting. And you'll see it first. Only using the two 8" clip fans. So far so cool.
I set the wall timer for ON at 7 pm and OFF at 1 am. That's 18/6 and 13 of those 18 were spent inside the greenhouse. + 5-hrs. under the LED. 18/6 to vegetate. That's where I'm at. All clones are thriving.
