If you can find anything abiut caregiver compensation out there please share it bro cause I cant find anything. That said I disagree with you. There has to be some compensation available to growers of med patients. That is why I ASKED if there were any people here that were being caregivers for someone who is nonfamily and how you've/if youve legally worked out your compensation. Since your not my questions not for you

Howdy Folks!
Back in Action after some down time. So sorry for my delay folks, I have tied things up here and am in board 100%.
Lets get it done. I will review all messages today and make comment. I greatly appreciate all of the interest and support, as well as patience. Its been wild here as of late, and I have spent the last few months accumulating genetics that I would like to bring to AK (Gorilla Glue 4, 9lb hammer "gooberry pheno", forum cut Girl Scout Cookies, Grind House seeds Mobb Boss, Alien Stomper BX2, Timewreck "Vortex Dom, and bloodwreck Dom phenos", Dr. Glue (Dr. Who X GG4), Valentinex (30:1 cbd:THC), Tora Bora (2:1 cbd:THC), Tundromatic, Alaska Jack, Autolope, Zspar (Tundromatic x Gorilla Glue 4).
I would like to get the group chats going and figure out who's on board and doing what and when etc, and would like to see our central office open within a few months from now. I know this is short, but I have done it before. Lets get it done.

I would love to be a part of your movement up here!! Born and raised Alaskan. Fully compliant Mad patient. Have 10 years of growing under my belt. Would love to be part of the new business boom thats gonna blow up soon for our med patients. We need testing facilities. Hands down a must. We need locally made "super soil" ive got a ton of ideas. Let me know what your thoughts are
Howdy brother, glad to have you join the conversation. Thank you for your interest, and I agree we have so much to look forward to!
As far as testing is concerned, its a sticky subject and one I have personal experience with. I have worked with several labs and have sat in on presentations done by those labs, in my own facility. We will get to that. If there are any chemistry majors, organic chem pros, etc, that would be interested, I suggest looking into the purchase of liquid and gas cromatograph technology, and set up now. There is always logistics of the industry controlled by legislation however, people, patients, and breeders alike, will all demand testing for various reasons. I am willing to support a lab, but would be most interested in the development and there after use of, rather than ownership. (I could possibly be swayed here).

As for soil, I could not agree more, let explore this idea together. Environmental impact will most likely be a factor to contend with, appropriately so. Shipping the product to other states, is a bigger challenge than it seems and so that's another topic for discussion when thinking of creating a soil company. I am convinced though, that the best cannabis soils in the world can be produced in Alaska. Iets do some digging there, and if you would AKrbb907, start looking into where to source the materials. Maybe copy another recipe and search those items first. Not everything will be found in AK, but what is being derived, may come from another source as well.

I'm also very interested in the growing Alaska market. I'm not sure where my place is going forward with the movement up here. I'm at a stage in my life where I'm really looking to my next five years and what do I want to accomplish in that time. I'm from Eugene originally and have taking my values with me, also lived in MI for a couple of years. My wife is from there.

AKrbb907 are you already a local business owner? Look forward to the future and hope you all enjoy it. I'm particularly interested in the MJ proxy growing as well as concentrates.

I've recently been taking concentrate making as far as I can. I see that as a really quickly developing segment within the whole MJ market. There is an opportunity to really get a foothold on the segment before anyone else can. The more I learn the more I realize that anyone can but a pretty cheap setup and do ice water extraction of bho but only a few people get really supreme results, ie... stable with a decent yield.
Super!
You will fit right in just like the rest of us. Where you see fit, and excel.
The creation of concentrated cannabis oils is an essential and key element in use of cannabis as a medication. True, a multitude if methods can be applied to the making of cannabis oils and waxes etc, however
Your a med card holder? You gave up your 2 amendment rights! Your grown you don't need mommy gov to tell you how to moke do you? Raven v.s alaska
Irvin Ravin was a good man, and friend. If your government is not who you depend on for "amendment rights" why quote a case law? ;) I feel ya brother.

It's pretty screwed up if you are a med patient and can't or don't grow your own. Being a caregiver would be hard also for most people. You can't even receive cash to cover the electric, nutes and large amount of time it takes to grow. The best thing for med patients is if the Recreational laws pass and they open MJ stores. If that happens there won't be med patients anymore, why pay $250 a year to renew your card for NOTHING.
I agree for the most part here. The opinion that "recreational" laws will fix things that are currently problems for patients, is far from the truth if history or experience has anything to do with it. This is a topic that we need to spend some time with, so that folks who have experienced the rise and fall of medical "affordability per law" can educate us on the reality of special interests that target law makers and push bills through legislation without the publics knowledge until too late, etc.
What needs to occur, is education. We can do that together. We can get on the same page as the rest of the country and understand what's REALLY going on. It will allow us to secure our own protections as well as interests. One thing is certain, your interests, and the powers to be, are vastly different. Its time to come together.

Anybody here caregiving for someone outside your family? Whats your incentive for doing this? Im sure you get compensated well in some way lol
We have been frank all along here brother, and I will be frank with you now. I have always been a caregiver for patients outside my family. I have been a caregiver in multiple states. I have experience that few have, and can assure you that I am not the only one caregiving without compensation from my patients. Certainly there are out of the box ways of securing alternative incomes from the fact and affordability of patient/caregiver status that off set cost burden, such as seeds, services, grow classes, room set up and design, strain consultations, medical equipment sales etc. Regardless of this, be open minded and do not close out the truth that we are not all, nor should any of us be, driven to do good for the sake of the all mighty dollar. I have found myself more times than not, within this industry, being compelled to simply help someone poorly off, in need, and obviously helped. It is the right thing to do, and you feel it, not just know it. I currently caregive for terminally ill patients, anonymously. If you know me here at RIU, it is likely for the same reason I am known throught the cannabis community. My information, help to you and the community, and to RIU and other sites, is a free service. Its been well worth it.

Click on the user you would like to PM & then hit the "start a conversation" button.

And the forum was changed out of necessity, not on a whim. It was an old program and constantly bombarded with spam that got through the antiquated filters resulting in vulnerability to our members and an unstable site.

Ive already got price lists and every thing set for a gas chromatograph.

I agree w3 could make way better soils here than anywhere else. After all everyone wants our alaskan humus products, fish and kelp, etc. Sourcing it directly is what im currently working on. If you have any tips or ideas lemme know.
