I'm smoking some Jackberry F4 that was an odd pheno. Instead of the pure indica, rock hard dense nugs that finish in 9 weeks, this bitch went 13 and I swear was still kicking out foxtail pistils in the tops. It was fucking up my plans and she was good enough to pull. Kinda airy, but she's nice and purple in late flower with a nice subtle grape flavor and that old school sativa high I don't get often. I've saved a cut for the future.

Couple more shots. I hate to say it, but she likely could have went another month the way she was kicking foxtails off the sides. Hated like hell to cut her.

Thank you, coming from u I'll take that as a compliment! I have only popped 3 seeds total from that cross and two were boys, so this is the only pheno of the lot that's been flowered, with probably 50 seeds total resulting from my careful little pollen painting job on a lower bud. To be honest though, she is in the stable because my little group I grow for love those dense little pure, kushy indicas, but when I expand soon it will be all about me in the new and there will be a lot of sativa dom hybrids, to remind me of the old school smoke I cut my teeth on in the mid 80s, but yet still get the shorter flowering times.

EVENTUALLY, I'll will expand further and have a pure sativa grow with the real deal shit like Panama, Malawi and some of the Haze-Thai or Paki crosses from ACE. Maybe grow out some HOG of some other Mexican or Columbia Gold when I'm set up for 20+ week flowering times indoors. Man that takes a level of dedication indoors and I wanna be ready for it and honestly I can't wait. First time I ever got ripped was like 1984 and was on some shit they called Columbian, but it was red. The more you smoked the higher you got, with no ceiling til you puked lol. I never saw it again, but smoked a lot of old school roadkill skunk and other local Kentucky homegrown strains of the era.

It's not sativa, but I remember reading a post on RIU awhile back from Neville of Mr. Nice about how if a person truly wanted to find the fabled roadkill skunk pheno, they should grow out their Ash and Nordle strains and make some crosses with the better phenos and then you open up the entire genetic enchilada and some extensive pheno searching should yield what I'm looking for. I'd love to have an opportunity to make that search a reality one day. Full fucking legal would sure help lol. No shit huh?

I love the real-deal sativas too brother. Truly unique. I find alot of younger cats be all about those heady indicas but i would be willing to bet they've never smoked a pure sativa.
20 weeks is a long time flowering and i've even heard of strains go beyond that and still not reach maturity. However, the extended flowering time on some strains usually translates to huge yields so thats a fair trade. Good luck in your endeavors. Until next time...peace.

Day 63. I was kinda wanting to wait til all of the pistils withered away, but man she's about halfway there with majority white trichs under a scope, with probably 1 in 10 amber and a clear here and there.

Yeah, I have studied a little breeding and knew that the f2 generation opened the box, but I wasn't too sure I hadn't opened it already with this cross. My thinking is this. To assume this cross is f1 stock is to assume the parents were true breeders or p1 stock, no? The parents were f1s and not all that true, with a lot of pheno variation. I wondered if I really have an f1 here or more of an f2?

So what I mean is, do two f1s of different strains produce f2s when crossed or a new f1 and does it matter how true the p1s to produce the parent f1s were?

I totally get where you're coming from...i'm still trying to get a grasp on the whole breeding game myself. I would guess that most plants of that first cross, although not a true f1, would be mostly fairly similar with a few variations(phenos) here or there.
