One of my plants is deficient…but the smell has improved!

Okay…Here's a new one (maybe)…

I have been running a Vortex plant that I started from seed a year ago.

It started out and grew very well from seed.,,grew it to 53 days -to soon dammit!

The second generation clone grew even better….grew 11 weeks and still too soon!

But this time, the leaves turned bright yellow with deep red purple stems at about week 6 (just started week 7)…So I figured Cal/Mag deficiency… or possible Nitrogen lock out because too MUCH calcium…Anyway, whatever it is deficient in, it suddenly took on a smell that was much stinkier like rotting fruit and pineapple -and it never really got that smell on any of the previous runs of it. I'm not going to give it anything but water from here on out.

Even though the leaves look canary yellow, the buds look bluish-gray and are covered in trichomes…although the buds are noticeably smaller this time, too.

Do experienced growers manipulate the minerals in order to achieve better/different flavor?

And the other weird thing is that even though the leaves are totally canary yellow, they actually look healthy…they are not wilting or anything -just bright yellow and purple stems!

Those wild colors usually mean the leaves about to die. But the colors also set in at harvest time too so watch the tricombs to see when shes done cookin. If your not sure just nip off testers. They usually take four days to quick dry over a small light on a screen. Checkem if your sketchy on taste and flavour. I find i get the best smell when i hang the whole plant minus the fan leaves and dry trim.
