I like the idea with the venting. I came across this idea to hide an exhaust vent coming out of a window. It's useless to me because I don't have any windows in my boiler room but maybe you can incorporate it somehow.

And I see you changed your mind about the soil. Nice one, you could do a hempy + hydro and compare the results.

It is that ffof that is screwing with me, I wonder if I had gone with promix or something if it would have been different, but now I am conceived the shorter grow time would be worth the effort

60 dalys flower they smell wonderful , Trimmed off dead leaves , thinned it out a bunch, found some leaves that were still green under there, looked thru the loupe found trichrimes switching from clear to cloudy, also found one live spider mite, and a couple of eggs, I knew they werent gone just knocked back as I had to spray in early flower, so I want to harvest before they make a big come back, certainly before they spin webs,, gross
So I think I will let them go until Tuesday that will be 9 weeks 1 day, by then I hope the trichromes are milky, thats right about were I like my smoke,
hard to guess a dry weight yet, my dry weight guess is going to be 2-3 ounces?,, lol I am not big on guessing,
The Cob light draws 104 watts, so 50 grams would be .5 gram per watt who knows, its always good to make it to the end of a grow, just a few more days, I may have just done my last watering todayIMG_7012.JPG

Sativa dom,, its called Donkey Kong from Oregon Green Seeds,, they say it can go out 10 weeks for flower, but my leaves are giving thier everything for the flowers, I have trimmed most of the dead leaves out in the current pictures, the pistols are so very brown, the trichromes are turning milky today, but I just dont think the plant can go another week,
Edit, the web site listed flower as 56-70 days, and I am at 63, smack in the middle

Sounds lovely, I'll have to try it out soon. Also, I need to get a pure sativa strain one day <dreaming>. Tim I have a question as I've noticed you have an 8 inch fan for passive ventilation, but only a 4 inch intake. Do you have any problems with the ventilation eg. fan gets too hot, too loud, fan motor problems etc? Apparently you should have the intake holes 2-4x bigger then the outtake, but if you have no problems with your ventilation, then the rule doesn't always apply I suppose. I am asking because of the unfortunate case I had with my fan. I don't want my next one to burn up again due to my intakes being smaller because of the PVC pipes.

Cheers.

Hey bud, I run a 6" can fan, I slow it down with a variac speed controller, its dailed way down around 35 percent of full speed, it gets very quiet at less than 50 percent, so the amount of air coming out of the exhaust hole on top of the box is a really gentle flow, you can feel it on your hand, and its soft flow, the 4" intake is more than enough to allow air in, besides, I like negative pressure in grow boxes, if I turned the fan up it would still work, there would be almost a vacuum in the box then, but it would be barely measurable, the can fan is a very well made ball bearing fan, it has never felt hot, I wouldnt over think the intake hole size verses fan to much, if your intake holes were too small, I suppose you would start to hear a whistle or an air whoosh sound and the air was forcing a "jet" effect thru the hole, hope that makes sense

Makes a lot of sense, thanks. Good idea with the fan speed control. And what suprised me is that the air being exhausted is actually a gental flow. I thought it was like a hurricane trying to squeeze it's way out. Hmm... my old fan produced a nice breeze when it was on and I thought that wasn't enough. Haha that's great then, I'm not worried about it anymore. :D I'll order the fan tomorrow.

Oh and by the way, congratz on the grow. Those teenagers you picked up turned out real juicy. Good luck with the drying and curing!

hey our boxes are small, if you can feel the air just gently moving, then you will exchange the total air in the box rather quickly,, you would need a "hurricane" if you exhausting an entire bedroom ,, sometimes you need to move air quickly to overcome heat,, but I have not had that problem with the cree cobs

That looks awesome! And probably more than 2-3 Oz from my perspective, maybe... Lol
I will be very pleased with 2-3, that will carry me along, plus I can turn some of it into butter, I get a small break now, time to start ordering parts for the new light build

They are perfect for traveling, I keep them in the fridge at home. But they keep well at room temp, part of that is due to the candy consistency. Ugh, lol, I'm no chef, and I've never boiled candy before... But the first batch was too runny and the second was rock hard... Then I got it just right... Lol. I just took a generic old fashioned caramel recipe and used the canna butter.

So, how many pieces of candy to get ya baked?

I'll get that recipe together, I actually make a 9x9 pan, which is half of most the recipes I've found. And I get at least 50 pieces, probably more like 75. It's a lot lol. But, depending on the strength of your butter, I generally only eat one piece, and smoke. I feel like my batch is pretty mild, and eating without smoking doesn't do much, but after I smoke, it's like it brings it on. When I first started eating them, it'd leave ya with a nice hangover high the next morning. Can't wait to make some butter out of this next harvest, aught to be much more potent.
I've given some to non smoker friends, and the first time they eat them they get a nice body high and I've gotten varying reviews, one said he ate one and felt like a zombie all day, and another who ate 3 over the course of a few hours, and didn't feel much at all.

after 36 hours the buds/ stems all went from 22 ounces very wet to 6.9 ounces after 3 days at 70 degrees in the dark
after trimming out some tree trunks the bud weight is 5.8 ounces
with .9 ounces in tree trunks,, ( a few pieces flew across the room)
