Yep, was a well crafted clusterfuck that only an entinty such as the state could generate.
Sent 1/2 the crew last week. They arrived at 1 and had badges by 5.
Took 2 more up on wWed, made it at 11:30 and was sent directly home after driving 100 miles to get there. I let them know what I thought about that
Came back Thursday am at 7:15. We didn't leave there until 3:45
Taking 2 more up Friday. It will suck too.
There is no way that they can get 4k people done by the first. Their max processing is 60 a day. They might be bad at math.
I would recommend waiting a week or 2 to see if they have it ironed out.
Oh, and by the way. You can not mail in the applications, even though it is indicated on the applications.

Drove up there this morning with the last 2 girls that needed badges. Left Colorado Springs at 5:40am arrived at like 6:55am.
150th in line and they only take 60.
Screw 'em...I'm not going back up there. Three trips this week and was sent back home two times.
I will either mail the applications up and wait for a call, or wait until the end of July when they can get their act together.
I feel for the ones that have to come from even greater distances and got sent home. Surprised nobody has gone off big time on these guys.

It's a mess for sure. I really got fucked tho - went a couple weeks ago, waited for 4 hours, got my badge, and then my trimming job decided to go back to using a service cuz they couldn't find enough people. Sure wish they coulda told me that before I wasted an entire day...
I managed to at least talk to someone after being way past the list of 88 people they made. Had him at least look over my paperwork and make sure it was all good. They are now saying that if it says it on your application that you can mail it in, you can and suggested you have it certified to show it was sent. They will go over it supposedly and call you so you don't actually have to wait in line.
IF you are an owner, there's a separate door you can walk through and not wait in line since you've already had to go through most of what they are doing. They realize it won't be done by July first, otherwise I feel your pain I was there for four hours for nothing, which is longer than I slept for last night. It's a mess, but somehow it's going to happen and I will get my badge.
Peaceloveandpaws, who knows we will need a gang of trimmers pretty often starting in August, but sorry for your situation.

I wouldn't consider it a waste at all. the license isn't just for that location, now that you have your foot in the door with the badge and gone through the BS, it should make it a little easier to find another position. use it as a selling point for yourself when hunting for the next gig (especially now, since timelines are looming).
Well I got my badge a week or so ago. After sending in my paperwork there was no wait to get fingerprinted and my picture taken for my badge. So, if you send it in, there's no wait for a completed background & IRS check, also I got a call to come in under 2 weeks of sending in my application. Good luck to all of you !
