OG Kush

Hey guys,

Need feedback in growing OG Kush from seeds. I got 5 seeds from growers choice, all of them cracked open and have really tiny tap roots poking out (really tiny seeds?). I have since placed them in rockwool (soaked overnight in ph 5.8 ).

Currently...

1 sprouted normally and showing its first true leaves,
1 sprouted really weak with purple cotyledons and still no sign of true leaves
3 still haven't sprouted at all (tap roots are still white but haven't shown any growth at all)

I've looked all over and it seems there are people that have trouble with OG Kush seeds.

On the other hand, I have also 5 CBD Blueberry, all of them sprouted normally and their first true leaves looking healthy.

So I'm wondering if this is an OG Kush specific problem.

Any experience? Thanks

There' more then 1 og kush brotha, not all seeds are created equal, never heard of growes choice but when buying seeds use reputable breeders to get the best genetics as possible. But all we can say is add pics and grow them out because everyone environment is different so what yours is doing someone else may not be doing

There are probably more OG Kush variants created in seed form then all other varieties in the world. It just sounds to me like these beans you cracked were a little immature. Good luck with the grow, hope they turn around and thrive.

Ty guys

I understand that there are multiple variants of OG out there. Just wondering if its really hard to propagate OG by seeds. The CBD blueberry I got is from the same place (no problem at all ) and their customers have nothing but praises for them. So I'm more inclined to say that they are legit.

@greywind...you might have a point there man and the seeds are really tiny.

I looked into ordering seeds from this company a while back and when I was in the GTA google said they had a store, so I tried to visit but place was empty in the middle of the day, I thought they weren't legit but glad to see you got product from them.

I'm currently growing 3 types of kush, had 4 but one hermed(was an OG-18 she was extremely finicky with nutes, I hit her too strong too many times and she dropped balls) so I think they can be finicky, my seeds were from DNA Reserva though, your seed bank looks like they make their own strains so will be interesting to see how it turns out.

All you can really do for the 3 that haven't popped is make sure temp is right and humidity is on point to help them along.

That's really strange. Their shipping was fast though and the packaging looks very professional.

That's what I've heard about OG, that they are very difficult to grow and not recommended for new growers. I choose OG to challenge myself , didn't expect that my headache would start from seeds.

Well, worst come to worst, I'll baby the one that looks healthy and use that as a mother for future clone grow.

Ty for the feedback

Found that with the OG18 to. They were terrible. Got a 6 pack. Had like 4 runts. All had no vigour and grew poorly.

Could it be that any of the OG Kush strain has been poorly back breed too many times that now problem with vigor and fertility are starting to show up?

No mate I’ve done better ogs than that. Skywalker from DNA is not the most vigorous in veg but it picks up after switching to 12/12. Sour power OG from karma is vigorous. I find a lot of DNA strains are like the OG18. At least the ones I’ve done with skywalker being the exception. In my experience with them you’ll probably find a decent keeper out of a pack or 2 but a lot of them will not be anything special.
