Hi mate I havent tried them personally but seen a few threads on here with guys that have tried them and said they were a waste of cash.

Not sure of the thread just give it a search i'm sure someone has done a review of them.

I bought one years ago but I'm sure the technology has advanced since then. I tried one in a walk in closet but wasn't powerful enough apparently. if you give them a try post your results.

I dont use CFL's myself but would also like to hear if you have any luck with them.

[This is called a photocatlyst type cfl which uses a titanium coating to convert odours to c02. there are better versions that use negative ion generators built in or even better there are combo photocatalyst/ negative ion bulbs now available. they also have the benifit of attracting and killing any bugs you may have on your plants. I have about a hundred of these left if anyone is interested they are $15ea

They work well for light odor and whatnot, and I definitely recommend getting a couple as an addition to odor control. That being said, they won't cover the smell of something like a marijuana plant very reliably.

tried 2 of the exact same lights on a friends grow. They were no match for His hashberry, afghan kush, and blue cheese. they do well at clearing the smell of smoking weed, but not the stong smell of flowering plants.

i would think that they would be an ok addition to any odor control program, but i doubt that they would do very much on their own for killing the smell of growing plants..

sounds like a textbook "kill 2 birds with one stone" Light and odor control. i will be using them soon. I doubt it removes all odor but if it helps then i'm in. I'm all about efficiency when growing so...

I bought one and love it!

From what I recall, you can not use these in your grow room, because of how it affects the air, but you can use these in the rooms you smoke in. I have one in my office, where I smoke the most, and ten min after I am done, you can not smell a thing.

The longer you leave the light on the more it "kills" odors. I want to get one for the bathroom now. lol.

The only smell the light has not killed yet is the smell from the fish tank. That I need to go clean. :)

I am using them. Position them up (so the bulb and wick are up) I have them on timer in the area to reduce the ambient skunk in the air. They work great. I bought a lot of them at a liquidation place.

LINK?

Wow you revived this a bit (April 2010 last post B4 you) lets see if we can bring it fully back to life. I have plans on placing two UVB t5 4' 54W tubes in with the 8 I am running (6 Bloom, 2 veg in a 2,1,2,1,2 pattern) and switching out the veg lights for the UVB. I will run the UVB for about 2 weeks very soon (couple weeks B-4 projected Flush time...). That is for TCH production enhancement. But this made me think about those industrial and barber shop Germicidal bulbs...and leaves ME wondering will they eliminate odor, as well...time to surf the web...

O.K everyone, any experience / thoughts?

Sorry for necromancing the thread. I bought the bulbs at at Liquidation place about a month ago. I was thinking that they are uber-local, so why bother with the store details. I found the same product online at Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Purely-Products-PA154M35-Kelvin-Healthy/dp/B0042X940S

I have a "shop". You know, tools, saws and a drill press. In the corner is a tall box with some stuff in it. Yup. When I enter the shop I sometimes get hit by skunk smell. I have an extraction system that should be venting quietly and efficiently, but the past few days it's becoming more and more noticeable. I put two of the odor eliminating bulbs "upright" as the instructions suggest and it seems to be working. My shop is about 500 square feet. Just so you know, the odor eliminating bulbs are not inside the tall box with stuff in it. They are in other areas of the shop where the box is located.

No need for apologies here! I never knew they had anything like that (or, if I seen it somewhere or read about it, just 4got). It is a good subject and I'm surprised it didn't last very long...but my tendencies, thoughts and ideas can sometimes gravitate me AWAY from the norm...

And thanks for the link, too.

bumped (again)...NOBODY?
