Change We Can Believe In?

Change.gov, the official website of President-Elect Obama, has reopened its online polling page, “Open for Questions.” Of course we all know what happened the last time the incoming administration asked the public to decide what issue should be America’s top priority. And we’re all well aware of Obama’s less than favorable reply.
That said, the fact that the legalization of marijuana finished first out of over 7,000 questions polled generated significant media coverage, including features by Fox News (watch the video here), Esquire, and The Hill. So let’s keep the media and the soon-to-be President’s feet to the fire and continue to push the debate.
Currently, over 25,000 public policy questions have been submitted to Obama’s website. Dozens of these questions pertain to cannabis law reform. Right now, the leading vote-getter among these (with 2,000 votes) is:
“Why do you believe that marijuana should not be legalized? How is the prohibition of marijuana any different than the prohibition of alcohol? 100,000 Americans die every year due to alcohol but none to marijuana.”
Please take a moment and log onto the Change.gov site to voice your support for this question, and others pertaining to the need to end America’s antiquated and punitive prohibition of marijuana. (To vote for this and other popular marijuana law reform questions, click on the “additional issues” link or perform a word search using the term “marijuana.”) The people spoke once before; it’s time we make our voices heard again!
“Change we can believe in?” We shall see.

Yea I don't get it either, your post title makes it sound like someone asked for some opinions or info or something and there is absolutely nothing of that sort going on here.
Very misleading.

People are going to be very let down when they see what Obama is truly about. I just hope that the rioting will be able to be contained when Obama supporters wake up and see what exactly they did to the nation.

Read that - it will give you an idea of the scum that Obama is. He lied to everyone in the worst possible way. He made people believe in a hope that he knew was false.

So far Obama has done three acts of "Change"

His marijuana position was #1.

His ensuring the gay marriage ban was passed in cali was #2

His wanting to escalate the war in Afghanistan by tripling troops there. will be act number #3.

Yeah, he wasn't lying when he said change, but it sure as fuck is not "change we can believe in".

I believe there is a chance he will allow it for medical use, and decriminalize simple possession. Not legalize it. All we can do is bombard him with an overwhelming amount of votes to legalize and make it the #1 idea on his site!!!

http://www.change.org/ideas

"The first round of voting for the Ideas for Change in America competition ended at midnight on December 31st. The top 3 rated ideas for each of the issue-based categories, which are listed below, will qualify for the final round of voting beginning on January 5th.* Voting totals will be reset at zero for all qualifing ideas to ensure an equal playing field.
On January 16th, Change.org will co-host an event at the National Press Club in Washington, DC to announce the top 10 rated ideas and our plans for supporting the formation of a national advocacy campaign behind each idea in collaboration with our nonprofit partners."

He's the best hope for change that we've got, better than anyone else who had a shot at the presidency, so go out and vote!

I feel sorry for Obama, he hasn't even entered office yet and he's already getting shit for everything he's doing and everything he's not doing. Obama isn't going to be able to wave a magic wand and make everyone's problems go away, you just can't undo 8 years of negligence and poor management that quickly.

Decriminalizing is in 13th place. We need more votes for decriminalization to be in the top 10! You can vote on more than one thing!
