Nutrients for First Coco Grow

Yep. First ever coco grow. I will be using Botanicare's coco with nothing else added.

Seedling are still in Solo cups under a t5 in the propagation dome ready for transplant. Which brings to my first decision to make... Flood and drain or good ol' fashioned manual top feed. Thought about automated top feed but that will probably be a whole other journey.

My main reason for posting though is nutrients. What does everybody recommend for coco? I am leaning towards something like cns17, maxi series, jacks or dyna but open to any suggestions. Might try a couple? Idk

I will be using bag seeds for this learning lesson so not expecting any kind of comparative results. Just looking to gain some experience with coco.

If it's your first grow in coco , i would suggest canna line for coco , just follow their lines , you can't go wrong with it

Thanks for the input @Lysergicpt. I'm not disagreeing with you at all, just the price. I refuse to give canna any of my money. But thank you for your advice.
hehe ok :P i actually can't talk about some brands you have there , i live across the atlantic from you , the only common brands that wew probably have its like Canna or Advanced Nutrients.
I don't have botanicare in my country ... i think.

Nice to speak with someone across the pond lol. Yeah I imagine you have some different choices over there. And Canna's probably cheaper over where you're at.

Jacks Citrus FeED. It's awesome stuff. Don't forget your calmag.
This is one I've looked at. Also noticed the lack of calcium and the somewhat low mag levels as well. Would definitely need at least a cal substitute. Was also looking at Jack's 5-12-26 hydro formula. But it also needs an addition of cal and lacks sulfur. Do you have experience using Jacks?

I tried the botanicare coco several years ago and was not impressed with it. I run cyco coco peat now and am happy with it. I run the CNS-17 coco and soil formula for all my plants now.

I am leaning towards Botanicare's Kind line if I stay with liquid nutes. The numbers look really good to me. I am thinking about going towards dry soluble nutes but still on the fence. CNS17 would be cheaper, especially if you skip the ripe, which I probably would. What do you supplement your CNS17 with?

Call Dynagro they'll send you a sample pack with everything you need for $30
Also, just a suggestion. If you're going to go through all the time and trouble to grow out a plant you might as well do it with some good genetics. I've made that mistake, it was a waste of 3 months.

Yes the only things I use are Cali-magic (RO water) CNS-17 Bloom and Hydroplex and Ph up and down. Haven't tried the Kind yet.

I use Jacks Citrus FeED with Subshine #4 advanced. You will need calmag due to the properties of coco. You cannot go wrong with this fert! Here's a link to my current grow journal:

It's a complete food with a good amount of sulfur to help with trich production. I use this with trap water, only adding calmag every other feed. It's just too simple.

I would love good genetics. Know of any quality seed companies that will ship to a non friendly state?

I am going to try it. I have heard, and seen, the results of another user on here who uses it and at least have to try it out. You don't add any bloom boosters?

Nope. Citrus FeED start to finish.

Edit: There is someone here who uses Jacks Blossom Booster in weeks 2 and 6 of flower I believe.

I think I've decided to go back to basics, start from scratch if you will. I am going to use what I started growing with... GH's Maxi series.

The plan is to do a little compare and contrast between Maxi and Jacks Citrus FeED or any other Jacks product I can find any locally.

I am going to experiment with the Maxi since I've used it before. I will be running a control which will be using the Maxi as directed, as far as when to use not how much to use. Example; using grow for veg and bloom for flower and both for transition. Then I will be running at least one with just gro, one with just bloom, and others with different combinations of both all the way through. Might try adding some FloraMicro as well, not sure on this? The Jacks I will just use it as directed as I have no experience with any of their products. This is not a comparison between the two. It is basically just a trial to see which one I like to use more.

Any pointers on how and ,more importantly, when to use any of these products , as well as, any products to use with them, would be appreciated and maybe applied to my little experiment.
