Nute Burn on Plant, Not on buds

I am questionable about your irrigation system, i understand if you are out of town but while you are home i would suggest taking it out and just watering when soil is dry, looks like you could use some phosphorus in those plants. I would also up my ph of watering nutes to 6.5 - 6.8 unless your soil runoff is still in the low 7's. I have used mollasses in my soil grows as well sometimes through the whole life cycle. And have had excellent results. ( you should be careful with mollasses because some have magnesium and iron which is ok but those are micronutrients and you will need less of these nutes than you think but i always used more than you do anyways so probably not your problem. Before i added any nutes to a plant that looks like that is to flush really well and dont add anything else until soil is dry, then start your nutes over from scratch slowly increasing the dose to you find the dose that your plant likes best, then once you have that down alternate with plain water.
Am I right in assuming the top of the plant if fed by the deeper roots at the bottom of the pot? If that's generally true that would explain this... The first picture is the top of a plant (unfortunately it's not the HPS making it look yellow) and the second is of the bottom of the same plant... I did have the problem with the irrigation system while I was out of town that left them sitting in their own nuted runoff for about 4 days... I wonder if the dose is fine and the mishap caused the damage...

Oh man that looks bad, I dont think that leaving them sit in the runoff is the problem if the plant was using the water your plant would look over watered. I stick to my original advice and say flush and then start nute schedule over. Those top leaves look dead and wont recover, and will affect your over all yield. Did you get your ph right? well i believe macronutrients will start at the bottom of the plant usually and micronutrients start at the top. i could be wrong so double check this in the faq section. There is tons of useful information there. look up "stickys guide to sick plants". i believe thats what it is called one of the best reads a grower will come by in my opinion. If you cant find it here look at icmag.com or .org i am very high and am having a huge problem remembering google ( international cannagraphic ) and go to the plant infirmary good luck

I tell ya what man... this is awefully confusing to me... I did the flush when I first started the thread... and then I start the exact same feeding schedule I was on before and they seem to be flourishing now... the buds are growing very well and new leaf growth is nice and dark green... the leaves that turned yellow are obviously dying off but everything (I think) is looking ok now... could it have actually been a nute deficency, or the salt buildup?

Occassionally during a grow, salt buildup will occur and a good flush usually remedies the situation. On the other hand it could have also just been getting to many nutes on a regular basis. I am glad to hear that your plant is doing better. How many weeks flower?

So do you plan on washing out the nutes for the last 2 weeks with plain water? Do you have a microscope or jewelers loop to look at your trichs?

Yup I have 100x microscope I have been using... they are all still clear as of yesterday... and my plan is once they are cloudy I will flush and go with straight pHed water...

are they root bound ?
i had dying leaf and brown leaf
when i had root bound
means . u dont have enough soil to let root continue growing
this means plant stop growing dies.

Man that bag seed looks good, so did your hairs all turn brown/reddish during the nute burn, i have had this happen a few times, if so you will definately need that microscope to check peak ripeness. Also that looks like some excellent mylar what brand?

yeah the bag seed plants look great... most of the hairs did in fact turn brown :( I have been watching them everyday through the microscope and everything seems to be at about 25% cloudy...

The Mylar is from a local hydro store it is 2mil SunFilm... it was a great deal and does an excellent job blinding me when I go in the grow room...

Here's a few more pics... I got ahold of my buddy's SLR with a macro lens :) hehe I wish I could post the RAW pics up here, they are SICK...

Thanks! I am getting incredibly impatient... I look at them, and I want to eat them... :) I just hope the nute burn doesn't fuck up the taste... :(

Yeah, the mylar is good... only problem with my setup is that I can't clean it, it's too tight... so it's a little loose and dirty... :joint::mrgreen: but... for the next grow I'll set it up so it works a little better... I'm just tired of pulling EVERYTHING out of the closet to work on it this time... :)

Yeah i hear you it is always a work in progress, i dont think the nute burn will affect the taste you caught the problem and already started the healing no worries, problem is when you make more space you will just grow more or bigger plants and will still be cramped for space. At least that is how it has worked for me, when i dont fill the space i feel as if i am wasting light. Patience is truely tested while growing i have to be honest and say i always take a sample bud in the last few weeks.
