Nute advice

I'll be starting my 2nd grow soon, and was not happy with my first grow's nutes (they were free with the kit), so I'm looking for some advice.

I've ready many, many posts, and everyone recommends a brand, but not a specfic product itself, so I'm looking for advice.

I'm looking to get the "Advanced Nutrients Grow 1L" and "Advanced Nutrients Sensical Bloom 1L".

As anyone had experience with these products? They also come in a 4L bottle, but I think the 1L will let me finish the grow and re-evaluate the goods.

thanks in advance,

I've used just about the whole line of advanced nutrients products.
Expensive. Very expensive.
I've had just as much success with much cheaper nutes.
I believe in keeping it simple and cheap.

Expensive eh?

The Grow is only $9, the bloom is just shy of $18.

I'm sure there are cheaper ones, but I don't think that's too bad

Did you get a Flora Nutrients kit? Despite it being lauded as the "best" in the world, there's probably a reason it's cheaper than most other nutrients on the market when bought solo.

I'd go the route of FoxFarm or Botanicare. Ionic is also good. Foxfarm is a little more expensive, but it's tried and true, and I've never seen an unhappy customer. They really do make some of the highest quality products out there- Ocean Forest is hands down the best pre-packaged soil on the planet. Botanicare is about the same price and quality. Friends I've known have also consistently recommended Ionic. It's really a matter of taste and budget, but all three of the brands are spectacular.

If you're looking for specific products, and don't mind mixing and matching... Grow Big from FoxFarm is the penultimate growth formula. Liquid Karma from Botanicare is amazing as a supplement throughout growing. Everyone I've known who has used it has been satisfied.

Hope that helps.

If you are poor,
then get GH nutes.

If you are not broke,
then I would go with AN

Some additives will help with either nute system.

Some other useful hydro products are:

I also foliar spray with Reverse and Penetrator
during the first 10 days of flower
for insurance against hermies.

Don't forget to purchase a good pH meter.
I recommend Milwaukee or PinPoint
because they have a detachable probe
that can be replaced each grow,
and a good warranty.

The pH probes are interchangeable between Milwaukee and PinPoint.

You will need to calibrate your meter weekly,
or at least bi-weekly, at two set points, 4.01 and 7.00.

Don't forget to buy the cal fluid,
and never put your probe into H2o2 or RO water.

h2o2 is a must? Heh. I'd disagree there. It can be a useful bandaid if you let things go a bit pear-shaped, which we all can do from time to time, but there are plenty of other (healthier) ways to fix anything h2o2 can fix.

I'm with Earl, though. I have yet to try an Advanced Nutrients product I didn't like. As Ferris Bueller would say, "if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

love that video, btw
