I'm trying to see who has the original, real-deal Northern Lights? I mean that hit you like the 90s version did. I'm only able to go with seed so I must be able to get it from Attitude or another bank. Please help me with the best Northern Lights strain, the breeder and which bank. Thanks for your help everyone!

Sensi Seeds for the original but its not cheap. It is true breeding so I would think Nirvana ain't too much worse depending on what they did for selection. Couldn't really tell you the best but a hybrid is probably better unless you plan on making a hybrid of your own. But you want the original Sensi has it.

Any others input? Who has the strong Northern Lights like we smoked in the 90s?

I had the original when it first came out. Ace seeds had a close version, not sure if they do anymore. But, Industrial plant is very close too. Ortega from MrNice is close too. Industrial plant is the one I'd go with right now. Oh and peak seeds cosses are good, just not pure.

PeakseedsBC.com took packs of old NL (90's) and bred em up to be pretty stable. It is how I remember NL to be, although not as strong. I suspect the strength is more related to tolerance and the fact I mostly smoked it in HS when I was a relative light weight. Still, very nice euphoric all over body and mind buzz - classic NL smell and looks too. His Hybrids will have mega hyper vigor and strength as he uses true breeding varieties of high quality to create them.

For way too much money.

Sensi for original,
Nirvana for S2 feminized or F2 regular
British Columbia Seed Co for a great selection of original NL hybrids with an F2 regular as well.
My version has pink hairs which is an Ortega inbred breeding line. Ortega = Northen lights 1 x Northern lights 5
It still hits me hard and always stands up to any kush grown beside it.

If you are a purest go for Sensi Seeds. The price will small in the long run if you keep it alive.

Peakseeeds version is worst case equal (probably superior given I know a bit about the controversy surrounding Sensi and the fact they don't have any more talented breeders) and cheaper. There's no reason to buy Sensi's.
Buy Original Sensi out of respect for Ben Dronkers and all he has done to spread the wonderful Northern Lights and others. I am thankful as I am trimming some Black Domina hybrids right now in this breeding line of mine that is top notch. Where would this breed be without Sensi seeds releasing Black Domina?
We must not forget the founders of this world wide ganja forest and give them the respect they deserve.

Also the same breeding parents are alive that released the original Northern Lights. Why would the new people mating the parent plants need to be good breeders? Give any new grower the parent plants and they can make seeds.
Inbreeding the seeds and calling them equal to the parents is an ignorant attempt to breed.

Go for Sensi Joe Blow if you want the real deal. F2s can be very very different from your expectations.

Who said he inbred them? He uses multiple moms and dads to avoid inbreeding depression while maintaining some stability. It's what I remember, to a T. It isn't perfectly stable, there is variation. But for breeding purposes, it is in fact what you want to do so you can have extreme vigor in your hybrids. Lock down the strong traits, lose some vigor, bring it back in hybrids. Even so, his NL is good yielding and vigorous. And it doesn't cost an absurd amount. Sensi charges too much for their seeds. And stories float around out there about them losing a lot of parent stock (Herer in particular) and having to bring it back from their seeds (which is possible, but requires good breeding practice). It's not so hard to believe either as many of these cuts are extremely old if they even exist anymore.

Your comments on Peakseeds breeding practices are completely ignorant. He's not releasing simple F2's. And it takes him years to work a line to his satisfaction (because that's what it really takes).

Ben has made more than enough money to live comfortably for years to come unless he's terrible with money. Sensi overcharges for much of their stock in general too.

200+ dollars for 10 NL regular seeds from Sensi that may or may not be as good as what they originally had.

Or

30 (40 if you're American) for 11 or 12 regular NL seeds from old 90's Sensi/The Seed Bank/BCSC stock worked to preserve the line using large selections of male and female plants to avoid inbreeding depression over many years.

Or you can get 70-80 seeds for 200 bucks....

Yeah, I don't see any reason to support Sensi and their outrageous prices.

Also, for the record, a lot of people swear by BCSC's NL from way back in the day. A lot claim it's the best there was. Peakseeds used BCSC stock from back in the day in his as well.

Shantibaba has also stated a number of times publicly that the mom/pop of NL are long dead. So it's about who has done the best preservation and from what stock.

Jack Herrer is really good so how are they not talented I'm not sure if Ben is still Peak Seeds has not made anything close too the level as Sensi from way back till at least Jack Herrer. Peak I never hear about and open pollination does not make it yours it makes you a hack not a quality breeder IMO at least change the name. I just noticed you said theirs is from bcsc so its not so close too the original IBL. I also don't recall Shantibaba saying the parents are dead and would they not have the parents seeds still?

It is not $200+ either it's around 150 at seed boutique I think less which is not too outrageous their is not too many breeders who release IBL's cause obviously a lot of hacks steal your work don't change the name or nothing at least Nirvana had the courtesy to change the name slightly.
