Northern Lights first Cabinet, Suggestions.

Not on the debate of hydro vs soild but I prefer organic food so why not organic buds? Its easier in soil to do this from what iv seen but it is possible for hydro. The bassis of both is the tea. Its an awesome fert and soil activator. But some people do hydro with it at equal parts tea to water.
But to the pot size for size plant it obviously does effect the potential of the plant but people have pulled an ounce out of a party cup.
All about how you grow it.

Good luck with all that! Im looking at maybe experimenting with hydro as well, it just seems like so much work for such little benefits. If we had a huge setup, more space, time, and money i think it would be a good idea but soil is just so easy and cheap! As of the HPS i think we both need to get one, the only thing slowing me down is the fact im worried about high temps in such a small cab.

I harvested and currently drying. Ill post some pics once I'm out of the hospital. My child isn't well so well have to wait. There's about 11 small little balls of bud and 1 bigger cola. For my next cycle, I've bought 12 x 1 gallon grow bags and 12 x 3 gallons bags. Ill be placing 6 x 3 gallon bags inside a container inside the cab. Ill post a new pic soon. Also bought 60 lbs of soil from hydro shop. I held off on juice until I have everything ready. Almost bought a hps light set but it was over 250 dollars so I waited. Anyways, just wanted to keep everyone updated.

Ah no scale yet, I never needed one but I'll get one. They are in a glass jar so I'll keep them there and weigh. I'm waiting until this week to start next cycle. I'll call it Xoshua's 2.0 LED. I'm looking at using CFL's for veg, and some sort of LED for flower. I was originally going to go MH/HPS route but I'm building myself there so I'm well rounded in growing. I'm using my CFL fixture from previous but adding it 2 more bulbs, adding a DIY hood and some adjustments. Same cab, added some features which I will go in detail when I set up the next topic. I've heard a lot about "Blackstars." (sp). I'm looking to spend under 200 for a flower LED light that will keep my 6 plants growing. Dimension is listed in picture. Also, I tried adding weather stripping between door cracks but it didn't fit correctly so I had to pull it off. Any idea to block it?

Blackstars are very energy inefficient and hot. A diy cab could benefit from a lower heat light source.

[Edit] Have you looked at GoogleSketchup? It's a cool design program, allows for the construction of 3D spaces to extreme detail. Pretty easy to use too. [/Edit]

Awesome! I will check it out! Yes I've used Google sketchup, use to develop 3d stuff for an indy gaming company.

LED's are cool, I love the color spectrum and BlackStars are prob the best u can buy! I have done alot alot of research in LED's. I love how efficient they are, low heat, and THE COLORS, ahhh id be tempted to hang that bitch in my spare bedroom and dance under the light with a big bag of MUSH! anywhooo, LED's still are not as good as a nice HPS system but u have to take the good with the bad. In a year or so id be willing to give LED's a run, the price will drop when newer models come out, I know blackstar is attempting to make a stronger light with better color spectrum i think as time goes by there will be alot more companies making them.
but yess blackstar is the best, comes at a pretty hefty price but pretty much all leds do, even for the shitty ones that wont grow a weed and not the good weed
