Northern Light Automatic Harvest

Hey All,

It's week thirteen and my Northern Light Automatic from Speed Seeds has finally finished up. I let her go a little longer in hopes of the possibility of a few bean's. She has a few nanner's so I can only hope that maybe some pollination has occurred. Totally CFL's the whole way through, five 23 watt lamps, mixed spectrum on top ( three 6500k and two 3000k ) and two 23 watt lamps on the sides ( 3000k ). Great genetics overall. I would highly recommend this strain. Very economical at under four dollars a seed.

Peace,

Sherman420

Oh yeah, also I've started my Purple Express Auto. You can follow along on the grow journals, I will be posting some updates in a few days when she breaks ground.

wow thats some nice size buds for 7 bulbs!
Yeah,

I'm pretty impressed with my setup. It's taken me years to get to this level. The overall cost of the entire setup is kind of steep, but it balance's out when you factor in the cost of running this system. It cost's next to nothing. Also, I can't say enough about the breeders, as we all know the strain's are pretty much limitless at this point.

Peace,

great job with such low wattge,!!! How was the smell ? nl is supposed to be almost odorless in grow were the speed seeds low odor?

Thinking about going with those if they retained the low odor quality of NL

Smoke report?

what distributor did you get them from? world of seeds wants me to buy 30 at a time ouch
Hey Mellowoman,

This little Northern Light did smell, but she had kind of a coffee scent to her. Overall the smell was pretty neutral, but make no mistake she did stink somewhat . You can find single seed's on any "Pick 'n' Mix" website. Just Google "Single Marijuna Seed's" you should get a ton of result's, almost all are based out of the U.K. No smoke test yet, but she has some of the tightest bud's I've seen grown under CFL's.

Good luck,

Hey guys,

No topping or training at all. She genetically has a very tiny stature. Also a very high flower to leaf ratio. I always look for small compact, high yielding strains. Also, I used a shallow, wide style of pot, this tends to keep the plant a little shorter. Always start automatics in their final pots. After three weeks I started feeding 1/4 strength vegetative nutrients. Two weeks into flower I fed her 1/4 strength flowering nutrients. Two waterings, one feeding, so on and so forth until two weeks before finishing. Then straight P.H'd water until finished.

Peace,

I bought 5 of these seeds myself. Can't wait to try them out. And hope I do as well as you have. Any ideas on dry weight yet.

Hey Cropper,

No idea on dry weight yet, although more than I expected at this point. Follow some of my grow tips if you feel so inclined, if you have any additional questions, don't be a stranger. Also, Autoflower Network is an awesome resource, very knowledgeable group of individuals, just like RIU.

Good luck,

Sherman420

Sorry, here's some pictures after trimming.

She sure is a beauty. And I will take you up on the offer for tips. I have one auto on the go now. I don't know the strain as I bought these as a mixed bag from Vancouver seed bank. Started from seed September 17. Had her under 18/6 but had to flip some big girls three weeks ago and since the flip she has taken off. Prior she was starting to flower but nothing to speak of.
Figure I have at least another month. And at this point not a huge difference in time from veg to flower. Have two more in my veg area and they are maybe three weeks behind this one. No sign of flowering. No sign of their sex.

Hey Cropper,

Beautiful plants you got there. Is the first one on the left a purple strain or is she under an LED? Good job, they look very promising.

No purple strains. They are under LED. I expected more, but she's getting better as we go along. My first auto in flower. I've always done Photos. Like I said before I have 5 auto NL seeds and am looking forward to growing these knowing what the strain is.
