normal ph down for a 40 gallon Reservoir ?

I'm trying to get a handle on how much ph down to use in my aeroflo 60. I'm pretty sure it's a 40 gallon Reservoir. I'm just trying to get it dialed you without anything in it.
my water comes out at about 7.5. it seems like I'm having to add a ton of pH Down. I have been slowly adding for 2 days now. I've had it down to 6 but it climes back up to 7.5 or 8.
I'm using general hydroponics ph down right now. I'm just wondering how much of the stuff is a reasonable amount to add at once. and what you guys use for pH Down?

I use the same kind. But you must be using some seriously unstable nutes

I normally get "essentials" ph down the phosphoric based one

They sell 2 or 3 kinds

like a piss weak

then a stronger one the piss weak one is like 15% and the strong one is around 80%

So yeah if you have a piss weak one then 1L is almost nothing if you have the 80%+ stuff then a 250ml bottle can go a long way

Lets see my 150L butt was talking around 20 to 40ml of ph down to go from around 7.8 to 5 that was using the 80% stuff
