Nordika - Week 6

Hey guys, thought I would post a quickie about the Nordika auto flower I'm working on. I've looked all over RUI and even searched bing images but found nothing showing the actual grow of this strain. Only found stock images the seed banks use for advertising.

I will definitely get some better images up tomorrow.

Simple setup.
250 watt metal halide 24/0 till pistils then 250 watt HPS 18/6
DIY scrubber (exits into attic) and Hamilton Beach True Air Odor Eliminator
Circulation fan
PC fan for intake
Just hung a no pest strip due to slight spider mite issue. (foolishly brought an outdoor plant in and the trouble started)
Cheap DIY 10 gallon DWC tank
During vegetative stage I used 1/2 strength Dyna Gro Grow
During flower using Dyna Gro Bloom 3/4 strength

So far it's been a really easy and forgiving plant to grow, low smell too.

I had a big time PH problem during Thanksgiving and wasn't able to tend to it for a week. (Family came and stayed at my place for the holiday and were in the house almost 24/7)
This plant bounced back quickly from the issue but the Jock Horror I had by it's side stunted.

I had water temp issues during week 3 and it was starting to affect the roots (still was very warm where I am) but cleared up with one H202 treatment. I'm going 10 days between rez changes now.

I've never smoked it but would recommend to anyone wanting to give hydro a shot. It's very forgiving/noob friendly.
In the past 4 months I've DWC grown some mexican brick seed, auto jock horror, auto critical jack, and this. So far this has been most healthy of all in less than ideal conditions; my hot climate and battles with reservoir temps.

The seed was $8.00 at herbies

The two things I disagree with is the finishing time and the smell. It's going to take more than 65 days and the smell is low enough that I probably don't need filters. The smell may change as it matures but so far nothing much.

I'll post clearer pics without the hps tomorrow then follow up once a week until it's done.

Take care all

Week 7 and 2 days.
9 days from last post.

Will follow up approx each week till done. With the holidays going on I've got people staying till the end of the first week of Jan. Will get non HPS pics up when I can, it's difficult with the house full of people.

Anyway, the main change is the smell. Early in the week it smelled slightly of ground coffee. Now, it's starting to get a much stronger odor. Smells like high quality dark coffee with a skunkish undertone.

Just now starting to get some frost on the sugar leaves.

According to the breeder this should be done next week, it's going to be more like next month in reality.

looks amazing, I might have to check those out, I'm on the hunt for a reliable high yield sativa. Got some Nirvana Sky beans I'm thinking about popping next go.

Yeah, that Nirvana Sky sounds good, I looked at that one when I was ordering my seeds a few months back. This is my first auto Sativa run ever so I was looking for fast finishers to see what they are about. I started a Jock Horror auto with this and for some reason it really never took off. It's flowering but it's tiny, about 9 inches tall right now. Same setup, same process and everything. I had reservoir temp issues 3 weeks in, perhaps that is what did it. Very finicky that Jock Horror.

Let us know how that Nirvana Sky works out, it would be good to know more about the various Sativa dominant autos from actual people. Have a good one

My bad, should add a side note for any tips. I only use free stuff in my grows. I keep it cheap (free) and natural. Its amazing what people throw away.
