noob alert, first grow

Once again Skizors, layin' down the good advice. If there is one thing I can add is just to get your environmental concerns in order before you germinate your seeds. Set your light on the timer, get everything up and running and monitor your high and low temps and humidity during both the light and dark cycle, just to make sure your not going to have to be dealing with any extremes after the fact. Things will change with the plants but this will give you a good start.

Lol my first grow is fully hydro xD and is doing just fine
Way back in the day my first grow was dwc hydro too. Stems as thick as my wrists. Worked amazingly. I did a lot of reading first. Coco or soilless is a different story though. Flushing and other problems can arise. Burnt plants happen all the time.
You can quote me on this and ask around. Soil is the easiest way to grow. Water every couple days. No phing, minimal feeding, days between waterings. Simplicity at its finest. Soilless? Eesh ph this, that, and everything. Hydro, which is different than soilless, always having to match EC or ppm however you measure it. Scrubbing weekly, full rez changes, ro systems, extra equipment like chillers, ph pens, ec meters, on and on.
Or.
Grow bag, ffof, water, feed a couple times in flower at 75-100% with some additives like calmag and done. Thats simple right? And itll produce a really nice harvest.

Also don't let the whole "having to know exactly what is happening and what your plant needs at all times" thing scare you off... there are plenty of fully encompasing guides for soilless... especially if you are growing in a unenclosed area, bugs are going to be a problem in soil.
Why do you say that bugs are a problem in soil and not soilless? You can get gnats in soilless, mites, all sorts of bugs. Worms wouldnt like it i guess, so no worms at least ;)

Specifically in the unenclosed space... really he might as well just do a DIY DWC bucket you can get everything you'd need for $20... besides a ppm meter.
personally I just don't get watering hahah. I'm an MechE so hydro systems make far more sense.
However I have heard people bash the bud you get from hydro(in the taste sense) but I dont know how that couldnt be rectified through suplemental nutes ans such...

Its true, you can build a hydro set up for 20 bucks, but its usually more. And you can buy a ppm pen for 20 bucks too, but youll eventually have to get another one because that one will shit the bed and all the sudden that 120 dollar truncheon doesnt look so bad anymore with its five year warrenty.
Whats the deal with the unenclosed space and bugs though? You have the same chance of bugs with soilless or soil, unless its soil from your back yard right?

I read somewhere that there is a greater chance of getting bugs with soil. Keep in mind this was on the internet, and you can't put anything false on the internet.

Probably fungus gnats. But they can also infest promix. Theyre rare though, some badly cooked bag soils will have them but like i said, pretty rare. Ive never had them with dirt but i had a promixer get them really bad, and a coco friend as well.

Hey, plant has a second sect of true leaves pulling out. Is the 18/6 or 20/4 better than that 24/0 on light.
Pick 18/6 or 20/4 and stick with it.
The plant will do most of it's explosive growth when the light is off. I do 18/6 currently with Autos in DWC under LEDs. 24 hour lighting is just a waste of resources. I opted for 18/6 because I am running an LED array so I like to give it a nice period of downtime, but if that isn't a factor go with 20/4

How do I post pics from my phone? And a few leaves are slightly curling up and have a a few yellow spots on the tips. Any ideas. Growing in fox farm soil. Only adding water

Without photos it is hard to say, but my best guess would say...
... leaf tips yellowing, then browning is nute burn. (something to watch out for in ffof)
It happens on younger plants in that rich soil.
if this is whats happening, don't worry too much, because the plant should be able to grow bigger, and adapt. next time, cut the ffof with some soiless mix, and/or perlite.

probably is burn but its gonna be from too much water...... that ffof almost works like miracle grow...... let it dry up .....................

Here is the system I use in my closet.

I usually add water with most strains, but some have needed a bit of help in flowering.
As packetloss stated above, adding some bloom food into your water can help if the plants ask for it, otherwise upcan with fresh soil, and add water.

I wanna know more about this....
