Hey Riddleme,

Hoping on some advice on the best way to hook up the Carbon Filter .

So there are 4 x 1000 Watt HPS
*CAN FAN (Centrifugal fan) - i think its 180 Lps *Litres Per Second
*300mm Westaflex ( Centrifigal Fan ) 450 Lps
*Carbon Filter
*Silencer
Filter Set up temp.jpg

I have purchased the Co2 Kit and am planing on buying the bottle shortly.
I have a Thermostat which i can set to cut in and out to make sure the temps are set correctly.

How should i set up the carbon filter?
If it constantly on and exhausting outside than this will affect the temperature dramatacally. If i set it up on the cooling mode on the thermostat than it doesnt turn on often enough to filter the air thouroughly.
When the room has Co2 in it how do i make sure the fans dont exhaust while still makibng sure the scent is being taken care of.

Should i make it a Sealed room?
I can get access to an A/C if neccesary.....

I am currently only running one of the four Lights and have a cool tube which is being exhausted inside the room as the room is too cold.
Im not sure if i should get cool tube's for the other 3 1000 watt HPS.
I copied Al.B.Fuct with the Adjust-a-wing and cool tube.....

Hope i havent cluttered your thread too much....
I appreciate any advice.....

Check out my thread and let me know what i can improve on.
Thanks Riddleme

hey indefinately, whats up!!

well i aint riddleme, but all the large grows like you just laid out with CO2, or any large scale CO2 implementation, have been done in a sealed room. in a sealed room, you just set your carbon filter to recycle the air in the sealed room, removing the smell. good luck, but once you get it dialed in you will be lovin it!

A little hard to tell from the pic's. Give it a little longer. There is no mistaken the balls once they show.

My dick is bigger! LOL. Riddleme is a huge help to everyone. I always study all of his replies. I don't care where he got his info or what books he read. He has a great knowledge bank of advice and I wouldn't hesitate to ask for his help. RIU needs more growers like him.
If smoking MJ is learning from a teacher plant; then, grow it well, is post grad work. Thanks riddleme

hey riddleme, thanks for all of your work. been trying to read as much as possible before posting. wrote to you on the skunkschool site and then thought id try here. got so many questions and then realized i should spend more time thinking about what they really were and stressed a little over asking you as my grow is maybe a bit more commercial (by default i guess as i just took it over and in a loose sense of the word cause i havent been able to actually produce like that) and maybe youre not so in to that style?
but maybe this one quick question: after trying to read and read could you maybe point me to where in your threads you talk about what you ph'd your water to when making it rain and feedin nutes? i know its just the water in that you say matters. i also have been using this nute base that says it wants to be used at 6.5. got some problems im trying to work out. thanks so much again!

I ph the water to 5.8

thanks for the link. after reading the process, i guess i still am wondering about my nutes and how they apply as they are a powdered 2 part for greenhouse growing that say theyre designed to be acidic and suggest a ph of 6.5 to 6.7. confusing, but trying to put it all together. and also wondering about the fact that im using sunshine withe some perlite, so no actual soil buffer. thanks so much!

sunshine mix is ph adjusted (it is what I use) and does act as a buffer (just like soil) and nutes being at 6.5 when you feed em will make them more readily available to the plant, don't let the numbers confuse you. I PH the water down to simulate rain, I don't even check the nutes, only time I check ph otherwise is if I have a problem

oh! i get it. okay. thanks. if i got some plants that seem like they are overfertilized (im not sure if it overfert or defieciency yet, still trying to get better at reading them) and they dont need water today, do you think i should flush/make it rain anyway? oh man i got so many questions. thanks so much.i really appreciate any and all help. been lurking, but sort of wary about posting, but realizing i need help to fill in all these little studying gaps. got no one to ask personally. thanks!

Hey Riddle, I'm Back!!!! Sorry about the long break, but i've been spending my evening working from home for the last couple months and haven't had much chance to read or post.

Just a bit of advice for anyone that has spider mites and decides to use the Doctor Doom Fogger. You need to be very careful about how you use it, because getting too much on your plant causes the leaves to start dying. You need to stand way back (4-5 feet seems to work for me) and use short bursts to mist the air around the plants without actually getting enough of the stuff onto the leaves to make them look wet. Also keep in mind that this stuff doesn't kill the eggs, so you have to repeat it every 4 days for at least a month to really have a lasting effect.

For my own grow I've come to the conclusion that the stuff isn't cost effective enough to continue using. I get at most two treatments out of each $15 can of the spray, and it's very difficult for me to get the proper "mist" around all of my plants without ending up overspraying at least one or two of them. I have to admit that the stuff works, but I want something that's going to kill the eggs, and that is less likely to hurt my plants if I spray a little too heavily.

heyy riddle,
i finally managed ta get some pics up. didnt get any of the odd bud formations cause my camera relativly sucks..
but id be nice to hear some opinions from everyone, think the funky leaves look to be genetics?? most of the sugar leaves have square/rectangle stems? and wide flat veins.. lol
not to worried about it, as they are gaining weight like champs  but would like to know wut it could be atleast. (dont mind the yellowing and small nute burn tht happened a week or so back:-?)
and all the plants are beggining week 6 of flowering.

whats people opinion on using a 1000Whps and 400Wmh side by side for flowering? been rotating plants every night to get more of a mixed spectrum, think it could have cause the weird leaf and bud formation?

thanks a TON for any help:joint:

Lookin pretty good there Jumbo, not sure about the square stem, could be from moving em? the mixed spectrum is a good thing as you know I would add another HPS (MH in the middle) or put what you have on a light mover so you don't have to move the plants

thanks=]
but yea, that crossed my mind about moving them. took me a while to think through the conflict of stressing em from rotating, and the benefit of mixed spectrum lol
but a light mover, and another HPS is actually next on my list.

also, iv been reading THE MARIJUANA GROWERS GUIDE by mel franks & ed rosenthal,
and wondering what hes talking about when it mentions "Cannabis ruderalis"? it says only in asia, but im really curious about it. and not having much luck searching RIU

riddle, question for you. looking at trying the dyna gro, but i really want to keep it simple. i have purchased the foliage pro already. but i dont particulary like the bloom nute ratios. i am curious for your thoughts on using this mix. the foliage pro 9-3-6 for veg with the protekt 0-0-3 as a silicon and pottasium supplement as needed. then continue that along with the mag-pro 2-15-4 as a phosporous and extra potassium supplement along with the mag & sulfur as needed through flower.
we figured out the other day in your balls to the wall grow that if you add equal parts of the nutrients, you then add the ratios = 11-18-13, then divide by 2 = 6-9-7'ish! (or 5.5-9-6.5 to be exact).
while this may not be the flower ratio that everyone follows, it seems to be adequate compared to most, and this regime will include all the nutrients the plant may need. i like this ratio better than Dyna-gro's bloom nute personally. but i would like your and other followers thoughts on my recipe. could save on a product as most i see end up purchasing all 4.

well as you know I do not agree with the high P ratio but it looks like it will work

we will see if I am right about the P thing, as I am going to use my veg nute (20-10-20) through all of flowering :)

i feel ya on the P thing too, and i cant wait to see the outcome of your research as well. but i know just the foliage-pro and pro-tekt will not be enough to get through flower, for both P & K. but their bloom nute is even worse on the P ratios, and everyone else on the market has high ass P ratios, for the most part. and i want to try and move to one brand and simplify things somewhat, hopefully:wink::wall:

oh and thanks!

how can i adjust humidity??? add bowl of water?? how to add temp?? slow fan down?? my veg light is 18"t5 made by eclipse, picked it up from fish tank store.. you stated that we cant adjust one without the other... kinda lost..

Once you have the light set right where plant is relaxed you can tweak temp & humidity (using the heat index as a guide) increase the temp by a degree and watch, add another as long as the plant stays relaxed your good, record these numbers for future reference. same with humidity 1 point at a time till you see ANY sign of stress. Your goal should be to achieve fast transpiration while plant remains relaxed (leaves just hangin out, basking in the light, happy) The more you can make it rain and feed the bigger your plant will grow, the bigger your buds will be, this is what you are after and is what a perfect garden will do!........

and then i stumbled onto this... so now i am going to back up and punt and try to read read read ..

and to all you lurkers out there, I bury things deep in my threads so to get it all you have to read it all, yeah it takes awhile but a bit of time is not a high price to pay for great weed
