I have severe arthritis in my hips and shoulders and weed alleviates most if not all of my pain. I think he's got some kind of mental prejudice against it, and it is having a reverse placebo effect. There is no way that it would increase his pain unless he has some kind of allergy to it, which I have never heard of . Of course anything is possible.

as a 20 + year chronic pain patient. I have had WONDERFUL success in getting off all my prescribed meds. I was at one time on oxycotin 3x100mg + soma 3x 90mg ambien 1x10mg so many different types of antidepressants I really could make a nice little mosaic with all the pretty colors of those pills.
I have been taking LEGALLY prescribed pills since 1990.

Each person is going to be different with their usage on pot just like they are with the hard core rx's they love to give out.
What you need to do is use LESS of the actual BUD or flower part of the plant. The leaves and sugar leaves contain more CBD-CBN and cancer fighting properties. The THC (generally found in higher ammounts in the flower-buds) I would recommend a higher CBD-CBN strain and make some capsules or rick simpson oil from those strains.

THC is a great thing for anti anxiety and mood elevation.

I have severe RA in my back shoulders knees hands etc (and I am not even 45 yet) to date I have have been able to get rid of ALL my medication EXCEPT for my pain killers (and I would love to be off that as well and am currently reducing the amount I take to replace the pills with the pot.

what has 20 years of painkillers done to myself?? well years of LEGAL use? I am sure I have some intestinal issues from the usage. I have tooth loss (narcotics and all the other rx's have taken a toll on my TEETH.. seriously... have spent $$$ on my teeth it's sucks! and not to mention all the personal issues the rx's have had on my myself and family.)

to any of the kidlets who like to try the pain killers for fun.. addiction sucks. I am no longer on the OXY as well as this rx worked on my pain the OXY so messed with my life thankfully with the strong support of my family and Dr I was able to switch to another pain killer which is not as severe on me as the oxy was.

One of the worst things those pills do to your body (besides horrible addiction) is the long term damage they do to your liver. Dying of liver failure because you used 'legal' pain prescribed pills is NOT a good trade-off. Look for high CBB/CBN% strains that are low in THC. THC (in all its forms) does deliver some medical pain killing benefits, but it really depends on your ailment. Here's a smart fellow from Austraila who knows his stuff, and has been helping cancer/MS/etc... patients for a while.
