no side shoots from nodes

hey guys

it seems my plant is only growing vertically, nothing coming out of the nodes. The other plant I have is growing side shoots.

Should I discard this one?

Pull it over sideways and tie the top down. By down I mean upside down. Do it about a half hour after you water it so it's nice and pliable. Secure it and whatnot. Wait a week and you'll have some branches. Also your plant looks like a palm tree.

So you prefer bush over shaved? Lol

The lack of branching is easily solved through FIM or LST.

Could be just perfect for a SoG. Could be a boy.

lol, yes I prefer bush in this case

I also have my suspicions its a boy but it hasn't shown any signs as such, although there are no white pistols protruding like on my other plant.

I didn't plan for a scrog so thats sort of out of the question, but LST with turning it upside down might do the trick.

lol I have never seen this before I mean his other leaves had enough light to grow a little so why won't any branches even the tiniest ones come out?

Okay so I've taken the advice of MonkeyGrinder and turned both my plants on their side. If I don't see shoots within the next week or so then I will remove it and replace it with one of the seeds I've germinated in the two smaller containers.

So far they have reacted well. Both these plants are from bag seed and its day 62! The one in the foreground is the female I referred to in my original post.

Yes they have been growing slowly and a comment that was made in another post is that the temps may be too high. So I lowered the shelf and for the past week they have been growing at a faster rate.

Tomorrow I will be watering (once every five days) and will see if they react again.

bag seed? BAG SEED? you're crazy sir bag seeds are the worst to grow, you dont know where they came from or what kind of genetics they are. bag seeds tend to be seeds from semi-pollinated plants or a full pollinated one. so 9/10 times bag seeds herm a lot quicker and are unstable plants, (like this one) they usually always grow weird and mutate out. good genetics and youll have good plants bad genetics and you will be growing brick weed.

This is my first grow under the HID system so I just wanted to test it and I've seen some posts of bag seeds doing pretty well. All what this is costing me is electricity which is about $20 more per month.

its just really hard to learn on shitty genetics trust me. not saying its impossible but if you ever switch to professional genetics you will see a huge difference in growth rate, size, girth of the stems and even the nutes will have to be changed.
