No pot party for Canada’s landlords who want to limit drug’s use

Well, youd be breaking the law in doing so as that's actually illegal. One of many myths. The right to deem it no smoking, obviously is allowed
Been a handful of years since I have been a landlord but it was completely legal at least in Alberta. Went through the tenancies act
/dispute resolution in court more than a few times to get people evicted based on breach of the lease for varieties of reasons including pets. Had to apply to the courts or resolution with description of breach to enforce. What a headache lol, there are some horrible tenants but I have heard of many landlord horror stories as well. Sorry for the side track, I do that from time to time.

BC landlords have the right to ban pets.
I don’t understand how it could be illegal for someone to stipulate no pets in a rental property they own. I remember seeing on the news a bit ago they were making it so you can’t say no kids, not sure if it ever came to fruition though. I know tenancy act flip flops a bit from province to province.

That reminds me of this story I saw on the news some poor guy got his life savings destroyed when some family from who knows where decided to rent his house and store goats and pigs, chickens and dogs, cats etc. all in the house with the family. When they shit or piss it was swept into the heating vents in the floor (those strange shaped things that emit heat are clearly drainage pipes LOL).

The guys house was totally foooked beyond recognition. Poor dude, he rented to Borat.
