No medical records w/insomnia

I have never went to the doctors for my insomnia but i'm really considering it now. I've been self medicating with weed for about 8 years now, since it's the only thing that's not a pill that will help me sleep like Baby Jesus :). Could I visit the Dr. twice in two months and then apply for my card?? I'm just ready to start growing it for myself, that way I can save money from not buying it & I can also take care of this insomnia indefinitely. Let me know what you awesome people think--is it possible? :)

no you cant go to the doc 2 times in one month, they have to be at least 30 days apart. also it is always good to take like 5-6 different doc papers all from different appointments, that way it doesnt look like you just went to the doc as fast as you could just to get MJ, but thats just me. as for getting it for insomnia well i really dont think they would hand it over for that unless it s very very bad. they will also probably tell you their are all natural sleep aids that will work

More opinions would be greatly appreciated. No offense to you Mcpuple, but you thought I said two times in one month and you said, "well I really don't think they would hand it over", which shows me that you have no knowledge regarding my exact issue. More opinions from people who have insomnia issues, with a medical card, would be appreciated. Thanks RIU!

I mean, I can finally fall asleep after laying there for like 5 hours. So I don't know how bad a doctor would say that is, but I do believe that if I went to the doctors just to show I have concerns, the local OMMA prescribing doctors would take that into consideration and possible consider weed, since I already know for a fact that weed helps me. That's my logic I suppose.

I am not sure insomnia is an accepted condition in Oregon. I know pain and nausea are accepted reasons, because I qualify on both. Good luck to you. You can always go and document pain or nausea that keeps you awake at night, and you need to sleep. If you have documented pain and nausea, you can go to a clinic, and they will get you set for a fee, but you have to have the documentation. Mine was not hard to get, because I have had some major digestive issues for years, wayyy before medical marijuana was a reality. I think there is probably a list at the OMMP website. Seeya!

ah i see you said 2 times in 2 months, but my answers is still correct. you wont get it fro insomnia. and thus shows i do know what i am talking about. ive been in legal battles over MMJ and i know alot of the laws and regulations including the grey areas witch is best to just stay clear of. weed can help many tings, but it doesnt mean every one prob will get them a card.

I used to have insomnia. People suggested I try ganja to help sleep and I got a case of short term memory loss. The good news was I forgot what caused the insomnia.

i never had insomnia, but after i started smoking weed ( i was very young) i noticed that when i didnt smoke before i went to bed i couldn't sleep well, i thik it is a small withdraw sign. every time i quit for awhile the 1st few days are hell trying to sleep and then it gets better

I had insomnia. Getting fit helped me a lot. So if possible - go run or exercise - helped me a lot.
Remember to smoke heavy indica with as little sativa in it as possible. I have a Jack Herer haze pheno that just makes me running up and down the walls, but my Grand Daddy Purple is very indica and i feel a big difference in this bud. Way more relaxing for when i want to sleep. Jack Herer i use for social and active days. Love fishing trout bringing a couple of Jack joints ;O).
I know i'm not exactly answer your question - just wanted to let you know that these two things cures my insomnia: Activity and Indica.

I'm pretty sure insomnia isn't an accepted condition here in Oregon unfortunately. But I have mine for a jacked-up back so you may want to check into it. Some of the clinics will pre-screen your med records for free.

I agree with Brimi; exercise and a nice Indica and it's lights out. Sativas are too heady for me and make me a bit spazzy. Indicas are nice and relaxing, soothe my back spasms and put me to sleepy sleep. Just like last night...ahhh...sweet dreams.

Thanks everyone!! I really appreciate the input & I guess it boils down to; Do I want to grow illegally and save money or do I want to lie so I can become legal. Tough spot to be in.. :) (: Enjoy the beautiful weather, folks! :) (:

It is such a stupid system...............this need for multiple MD visits over many months time. Ridiculous. No other medicine or group of patients is discriminated against like this. And why must one see an MD for an herb? Perhaps those health care providers that are actually educated in such things should be involved too? I may be biased here ;) And what about all those patients that either choose not to use conventional medicine or cannot afford to? They are forced to pay $$$ to play the game or are else criminals? BS.......Decriminalize the cultivation of this plant and we have a non issue.
