What's up everyone! Starting off '09 with a bang let's get started, shall we?

The Game Plan - Grow as much weed outdoors as physically possible with the least amount of work!

Strain - Unfortunately on this one were going with bag seed. However, these seeds are only from the dankest shit I've smoked, non of that $20-$35 a bags shit.

Soil - Mostly MG top soil with out the time release mixed about 60/40 with peat moss, sphagnum at that. This is just a lot of what I had left over from last year so I'm going to use it up as fast as possible.

Nutes - Haven't ordered them yet but I'm torn between Blue Mountain Organics full line or Technaflora Recipe for Success. Right now I'm leaning more twords BMO, last season I used BioBizz and GreenFuse both great products but I want the complete package and that is what BMO is all about.

Container Size - After Germination they were put in solo cups, then 1 Gal. containers until they are put outside. Once outside they will be placed directly into the soil for maximum growth, thinking about mixing peat and perlite into local topsoil. The soil in New England is great but it could use a little fluffing up. In areas that are more wet, I'll be placing them in 5 Gal. containers.

Indoor lighting - A pretty sick CFL set up me and my buddy made. Got all the parts at home depot, 4-23watt CFL's, plywood, sockets and all that good stuff. I'll post a few pictures of it.

So far I have germinated about 30 seeds and chose 9 of the best looking seedlings and placed them into my topsoil/peat mix. As of now I have only been watering them, it's been just over 2 weeks and I have only had to water them a few times. Since our tap water has chlorine in it I let the water sit for a day or two then use it. The seedlings are still on 24/7, can't find my damn timer from last year... I think I got stoned and hid it on myself...bongsmilie. Have a little fan blowing on them and the roots have made their way to the bottom of the cups, might be time for a transplant soon.:eyesmoke:

Hopefully I will get about 4 or 5 females from the 9 seedlings. Once I can sex them the cloning will begin!

P.S.
All question, comments, and advice is welcome and will be greatly appreciated. Like I said before this is my second grow so I know a thing or two but I'm am no pro!

What up everyone? Its now day 18 of my grow and my plants are ready for their first nutrient watering. They are still little and agile so ill only be feeding them about 1-2 ml of solution per liter of water. I still haven't chosen my nutes for this year so ill just be feeding them some BioBizz and GreenFuse supplement, both of which are organic and should have no problem on the little plants. Also I have Ancient Organics Bat Guano 10-2-1, I added 1 teaspoon into my 1 liter solution. Right now the 3 additives are being bubbled until tonight when I will water with the solution.

Schedual on the bottles: - Current Feed:

BioBizz- 2-5ml. per Liter - 1ml. per Liter

GreenFuse- 1ml. per Liter - 1ml. per Liter

Guano- 1 1/2 to 3 Tsp per Liter - 1Tsp per Liter

P.S the peat moss is great the soil stays moist but airy for longer and its the perfect density, the roots love the stuff!

You think it's safe to start adding ferts? Those plants are still very young, there should still be enough nutrients in the soil for a few weeks longer imo

:peace:

Yup, the BioBizz is mostly beat extract with all the trace minerals, so its like adding molasses and like super thrive. The guano should be fine, its a high nitrogen but its slow release because it takes time for the organic material to breakdown. Its really hard to burn with organics, they take a good time to brake down in the soil but most of the trace minerals and micro-nutrients are readily available.

It's now 2-1/2 days after my first feeding and my plants seem to be loving it. No signs of burns or stress. I just bought some alfalfa pellets and ground them up. I added about 4 tablespoons to a half gal. of water and hooked up my bubbler to the solution.

I have never used Alfalfa before and so I plan on water half my plants with it and half with just water to see if there is any comparison.

What is Alfalfa? Its a common animal feed made from alfalfa hay. It contains a minor NPK and millions of microbes that help breakdown nutrients for the plants. Alfalfa contains the hormone, Triacontanol, that is a plant growth stimulant. So hopefully we will see some great results with it.

Alright everyone its been about a week since my last update so I think its time for another one.

The plants are doing good, but I have had some struggle over the past week. Turns out that the heavy peat mix that the roots loved so much caused root rot... IRONY! lol yea the soil stayed wet for to long and the roots began to decay from Pythium. However I did catch it early, the first day I saw the plants wilting and I instantly new what it was, it looked like over watering but root rot has the same effect as the roots cant get oxygen.

I dumped 50/50 3% H2O2/Water in the media and it instantly started bubbling like crazy. Few hours later flushed with mostly water + a lil more peroxide. With in 12 hrs. plants went from dropping to the soil to stretching for the lights, would deff recommend peroxide to anyone!

There still is some root rot but I added more H2O2 without trying to over water, so I sprayed this mix onto the affected roots. Then I transplanted into a mostly soil/perlite mix, hope the recover well. I will still be adding peroxide to the feed until I see improved roots.

1st pic is after Alfalfa feed, still strong.
2nd pic is the droop from root rot
3rd+4th pic are from today after transplant, 6 days from last posted pics

When you prune you are redirecting hormones into lower branches.

Prune off the top of the plant below the first set of two branches to drive hormones to lower branches. Pruning off more of the main stem will increase the effect.

Prune off the tip of plants to diffuse hormones and make lower branches grow more.

Prune the tips of all branches except the main tip to make plants tall.

Remove lower branches that do not recieve light. Plants will direct energy into buds. (make clones from them).

Leave leaves alone! Removal of healthy leaves hacks up a healthy plant. Plants need all there leaves to produce the maximun amount of chlorophyll and food.

Dropping in for another update. So it's almost time to plant outside and I think I'm going with 5 gal buckets on this one, their cheap and not to small.

For soil I'm mixing top soil with peat and perlite then I'm adding guano, dehydrated cow manure, worm castings, dolomite lime, and peace of mine fruit and flower.

Also I'll be adding chopped up fish mixed into the bottom of my pots on top of some stones. (heard this works real well).

For now I have been feeding with guano, green fuse plant stimulant, and BioBizz mixed with some Epsom salt.

I do the same mix for foliar feeding minus the guano but I add a little bit of jacks classic 30-10-10 to supply macro and micro.

The plants are about 6 weeks old now and doing well. Getting ready to plant them outdoors in 5 gal buckets.
Soil is all ready to go with tons of amendments and perfect consistency. Been feeding them organic tea made with guano, castings, manure, alfalfa, Epsom, and plant tone which has different beneficial bacteria strains in it, plus its got all the different meals incorporated!

Pics of the tea, plants, and topping/super cropping!
