Hey buddy! Subbed up. I currently have a grow going on with 5 plants (was 6) that are all in flower now. I started with 6 under 1 190 like you but decided to grab a 2nd to maximize yield. If you're interested in checking them out feel free to go to the thread "my first grow day 3"

Thanks for stopping by, I stopped by that thread and I'm a little jealous seeing 2 190's in action in your grow. My wife flipped when she saw what I paid for the light so I can't get the second one until October when I get my vacation pay. Now that I have the light in action she's subbed. She's had major surgeries on her back and is also a legal med user but she wants low thc, high cbd strains to grow but I can't find strains like that. I mean super low thc. They have edibles like that at the dispensery but the cost really gets up there. I'm going to make edibles with some of my grows so I'm hoping nirvanas strains will do. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

Best of good growing to ya! My wife flipped when I got the second one. She also flipped on the first but results have settled her for now. I'll be keeping up with this to see how they turn out!

Yesterday I noticed the grow is starting to smell. I remember back in the 80's all my outside grows smelled different. This is a more dank smell, deeper almost like B.O. Definitely indica strong strain. I thought I noticed female preflowers, but I looked close up with a loupe and it looks like new leaves. I also ran into my first problem, a couple of the plants had leaves edges slightly curling up. My humidity during the day is mid 40's. Temps max at 82. I raised the light to 23" above canopy and rotated the plants more often and a day later they're looking better. Tuesday is the 3 week mark. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

I have this plant in my tent that likes to do goofy shit with its leaves, never the same thing twice. I just call her the oddball lol. Glad ya got it worked out tho.

Yeah, learning a lot as I go. For instance, secret jardine tent not that great. I don't know about others but I've had to deal with a lot of light leaks. Zipper, even one in a seam. Inline filter not scrubbing enough, even slowed air flow to try and help it to no avail. Variac transformer, works great. I think two are showing preflowers, should know for sure soon. They're female. I picked up nutes today, got dynagrow pro foliage and bloom, had to go cheap so that's my choice. Tomorrow is 3 weeks and I don't see a need for nutes yet, was thinking one more week unless something changes. This ocean forest soil seems to have enough nutes for the first month. They're about 9" tall now and getting thickerimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

I thought I was actually seeing these plants starting to show sex but I looked again through my loupe and they're just new very skinny leaves starting out. Without the loupe they really look like female pistils. These things give incredible detail, glad I got one. Just measured them and 3 are 10" tall. I heard the vege part is easy wait till I get to the flowering, that's where the mistakes are made. I'll try and recover from whatever happens. I'll look at the end result and move on to the next one. It isn't just about product for me at this point in my life, it's getting back a long lost hobby. I'm having a blast with this.

I grow beans from CBD-Crew that may be worthwhile checking out for CBD-rich strains. Also, Cannatonic has CBD-rich phenos, so you have to do a bit of pheno hunting, but its a good strain to work with. I've noticed more breeders start carrying CBD-rich strains, but unless I see lab reports or get guarantees, I'm a little hesitant about their claims. There are other CBD strains out there...if you hunt. I prefer them for daytime use, for the most part. I usually get into stronger THC strains only at night.

I have one of these too, and want to see how they perform. Haven't had a chance to try mine out yet. Still waiting for some wee ones to grow a little bigger.

That's a nice bud, you gotta be lovin dual 190's, I'm even looking at the rw150 as an add on. I don't know, two 190's just seems like a solid choice. KineBoisin thanks for the info, now I know what I'm looking for is out there. It's a little hard helping my wife because she doesn't want to smoke it, only wants edibles with a light buzz. I get her cheeba chews and cbd Bhang bars and they advertise low thc, high cbd and really seem to help with pain. I came home from work today and noticed on a couple plants the new growth is a lot lighter than the older. I've been using filtered water from my fridge and I found out thru a thread that filtered water can have calcium removed so just in case I'm adding some cal-mag. It's hard to tell in these pictures.image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

Almost at the one month mark, Tuesday. Two are at 14 inches and two are at 10 inches. Next watering starting nutes, dynagro pro foliage. Going to fim top soon and continue vege for maybe 2 more weeks . This light works great for vege, but i wish I had one more for flower. They're really starting to thicken up. It seems like they're really going to spread out when I get to topping and flowering. No biggee, I'll have more lighting down the road. Until then, I just have to work with what I got. I hope everybody had a great weekend.image.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

I like that you're using fabric pots. I'm a newbie too, so it's not like I've got a track record, but the fabric pots just make sense to me. I like the idea of the extra air exchange. Plus they're awful hard to overwater.

If you don't mind I'd like to make a suggestion. Even the fabric pots will stay damp in the bottom couple of inches. We bought some heavy duty baking racks and some stainless steel pizza trays. The SS pizza trays were expensive, about $16, but I'm glad we did it now. Even though the racks are fairly stout, I figured they were gonna bow in the middle so I cut a 1/2" thick ring from a scrap piece of 4" PVC with a chopsaw. Place the PVC ring in the center of the pizza tray and set the rack on top of the ring. The rack is supported by the rim of the pizza tray and the PVC ring in the center. The fabric pot sets on top of the rack, and now you have 360 degree air exposure. If extra water runs out you know it right away. Every week or two pull the girls out of the way and clean the pizza trays. They'll shine up like new. Every day I spin the plants 180 degrees. It's easy because the metal rack slides on the pizza rim and the PVC ring.

I FIM'med our girls and all I got was two unhappy plants. And four nodes of deformed leaves slowly maturing for weeks. I felt like a real creep the whole time.

And both plants continued with a single main branch!

I've only FIM'med one time and that's the last time. What I tried next was putting on some hobby visors, the ones with the magnifying lenses. Grabbed some very pointy tweezers, dipped in alcohol. I carefully spread the top out a little bit with my fingers and plucked out the teensy, tiny, itty bitty little nub of the newest growth. I mean, we're talkin' smaller than a BB small. Even though the tweezers were very small and pointy at the end, the greenery barely peeked out from the metal tips.

Unlike the ugly FIM experience, the plants didn't seem to be so offended. Within 2 days it was clear that they were finally going to branch for me. And I didn't have to look at all those mauled leaves for weeks like before.

In my newb opinion, FIM is something that's gained a following and become "the thing to do" when it's not any more valid than other techniques.

I was thinking about elevating these pots in the beginning but kind of forgot about it. The racks are something I'm looking at. As far as topping I'm still considerating different methods. It's hard right now, work is real busy now so I'm waiting till this weekend. Today they are one month old and doing pretty good so far. My buddy can't start his grow for a little while so he offered me some side lighting till he gets going. This is getting harder now because I have to make decisions about when to top, switch to flower and I'm starting to hesitate because I don't want to screw them up. Some people even say don't top them, Snow White being indica dominate stays short anyways. So many ways to go, decisions, decisions.image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Looking good. And i think if you let them get twice that size your area is gonna get pretty crowded. So, i would flip sometime between then and now :) topping would be a good idea cuz it would widen and even out your canopy under the led.

Thanks kmog, they're getting topped Saturday. At least the two in front first. These two are 16 and 17 inches. The two in back are 14 and 15 inches. I found a good youtube video where he had the camera real tight on the top when he cut so I have a good idea where to cut. Then I'll watch them over the course of next week to see how they react. I think I'll be flipping pretty soon.

I came home from work today and found they grew another inch so I topped the one that's 18". I'm waiting until tomorrow to see if the one that's 17" grows another inch, it should be close enough to top also. I've looked at numerous pictures and a video on where to cut and I think I got it. I get three more try's to get it right. The other two are 15" and 16"., so they all grew one inch in a day. I'm going to wait and see if the other two catch up, then I'll top them also. From what I've read I should wait at least 2 to 4 weeks after topping before switching to flower so that's what I'll do. You can see in the first picture the one I topped.image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Two more are catching up to the one I topped. Even the shortest one has grown a little more. Tomorrow I'll top the two, then a couples days from now the last one. Next week another friggin heat wave, Monday to Friday. The weather here is getting bizarre, heat waves are the norm. They're saying mid 90's to 100'. I have A/C but the last one dropped the humidity from mid 40's to mid 30's.
