Nirvana AK48 Flowering Time

I've run this one before when I first started growing for myself, and I had good luck with her.

Really nice plant overall, fast finisher (8 wks), good producer and nasty stinky potent buds. Cloned easily and was forgiving of newbie mistakes. Part of me wishes I would've kept her around longer.

I know in bringing back a thread from the dead but I'm just adding some more info just in case someone is doing research. Here is my ak48 from nirvana- almost at week 8. I chopped it down a few days later and in retrospect I should have waited another week.

Thanks for this, I have a couple ak48 going right now and this is my first experience with them. The site I got e from says 48 day finisher, hence the name, and I am getting close but figured it would take longer. Mine aren't filling out nearly as fat as yours yet, but I am about 8-9 days from being 48 days and was expecting these to take much longer but I am seeing mostly cloudy trichs and mostly brown hairs but still slim looking like it needs a couple more weeks to fill out.DSC00375 (2).JPG DSC00379 (2).JPG

You will regret not letting it go longer than 48 days. Wait for the weight.
thanks for that, that is what I was thinking. What do I need to look for in the way of negatives, besides too many amber trichs and trichs bursting? and then of course the obvious, plant just keeling over and dying. I am just getting back into the swing of things and this is my first run with this strain. My last harvest was a different strain and I had root rot issues and by the time it was "finished" it was dying but it was nowhere near being ready. It was around 60ish days, I didn't have good notes on flip or anything that time but the same plant (clones) I got in flower now are already at day 70 now and not looking anywhere near close. I'm rotating her out of the lineup needless to say. I had planned on more than 48 from the start but I am confused about the signs, mostly cloudy trichs, mostly brown hairs, but no bulk at all. Far too soon for me, I didn't even realize it was this close to day 48 until I saw signs of getting close and went back to my notes.

I wait until I see the calyx swell, and hairs receding. You could go at least another 10 days, and 14 wouldn't hurt anything. Burst trichomes?...never had that problem. Never had one keel over suddenly either, but I'm in soil. I see how that could easily happen in hydro.

I had never really heard of burst trichs myself until recently, someone gave me advice after me asking about this same plant a few days back.

I have also never had one keel over but I haven't had that many runs. I am in hydro but still wouldn't exactly expect it unless there were other problems going on, which for me there were. I had a lot of problems with that run. Namely, heat, root rot, and poor lighting for flower. I have recently fought those off fairly successfully.

I am seeing a little calyx swell on the ak48 but no receding hairs yet, not sure what that looks like really. and no swell, that is my biggest worry. I am really hoping for an end of run weight gain, I like the time involved so far.

My other girl that is way farther along is swollen fat AF and looking good, but no cloudy trichs, no brown hairs, maybe a little calyx swell, but not as noticeable as the ak48

do plants normally start showing signs of nute deficiencies as they finish? I try to start a flush a couple weeks out and have caused that before, but I have plants that are getting fed heavily now that are showing signs of what I think is a cal-mag deficiency.
