Are you too old to comprehend or just stupid?

im not sure thats what hes saying....maybe im wrong but it sounded or seemed like he was musing that the way the world usually defines success is by certain markers, one of which is the accumulation of wealth or money. If thats what he was saying then hes basically saying the same thing you said, which is that tesla WAS a success, just not in the usual way our society and culture reckons it.

That was exactly my point. Thank you for your comments.

It's not that Tesla was a success (you've heard of him), it's the fact that his legacy is what the modern industrial culture is built on today and they only use a small amount of what he made available.
Bosses don't like Hippy's from any era. Blinded by Greed is what they is.

if Tesla was successful we would be into the jetsons age right now.. at least that is my thoughts on the matter.
That's why he is synonymous with conspiracy theories. His idea of dc was in direct competition with Edison and ac... Edison fried and elephant to death with dc current and ruined teslas name. Why you may ask? Because free energy didn't work with Edison's plans of selling electricity.

Edit: perhaps this shouldn't be addressed to you because after further reading I see you actually understand what we lost with teslas shame my apologies

Also I'll throw it into the ring that it's hysterical to me that people think that the tesla car and the man are related.. Most don't even question they are not and go on go on to assume it's his designs...

Marketing is something ehy

Got it bass-ackward. Edison fried the elephant with AC to show that it was dangerous.

yea we are all victims of lack of context and nuance in the written word.....which is why its so important to extend some grace to each other.

back to Tesla......anyone have a favorite quote, story or invention?

i have all his autobiographical works somewhere and im currently looking for the quote of his which in essence says with enough energy or power put behind radio waves in resonance with a medium one could split the earth in two......

schnooby, it was the mechanical oscillator that could split the earth using less than 5psi,
Which just happens to be the same as the steam engine and easy to convert to hydraulic, this is a part of my hydraulic transformer design to replace the I.C.E.in a vehicle, 140lb's will produce over 700H.P at the wheel, self charging too.
as far as i'm concerned more folk should learn about the Tesla miester, and resonance often kills my computers when i play. 8-)

You are totally right, that was rude of me. I looked at it after I posted and thought to myself how rude it was and it is slightly embarrassing for me to admit it. I tried really hard in the previous post to show that what society calls success isn't necessarily what I define success as. I also tried to show my support for tesla and recognition of what he was attempting to do. If anyone does talk to tty guy let him know I cordially apologize.

I took offense right off the bat because it felt like he didn't even put thought into reading my post but hell... its hard to tell what context folks are using when typing. If we were in person it would have been over and done with no hard feelings right off the bat. Little easier to explain myself in person as I am definitely not great at expressing myself textually.

It is definitely a marketing scam, the car itself looks nice and sleek but doesn't mean Mr Tesla had anything to do with it. You are so right though I have yet to see one person question why the car is a "tesla" and not an "edison" or what not.
