NFT / Flood & drain

Hello, have searched for answers to my questions, but to no avail.

I've a successful soil grow under my belt, and another one on the go.

When my soil plants have finished, I'm going to go hydro, I already have flood tray, and resevoir tank.

Question is, how long do I flood the table for, I know it's dependant on how big my system is, and if I'm using clay balls or another moisture retainer.

I was thinking of just using rock wool cubes, and rooting mat.

What's the basic rule of thumb, cuz I've heard multiple things like 15 minutes flood every two hours,

and even 24 hours.

Help??

Long enought o thouroughly wet the roots and frequently enough to prevent them drying out.

Well, I am into 12/12 on my first hydro grow, and they look delicious....I have used AN nutes and fed them 3 times a day for 15 minutes, and they have always been lush and green with no signs of overwatering or nute burn. So....this was the rule of thumb i was told...3xdailyx15 mins....and it is working well for me...thumb size buds 12 days into flower.....2x Northern Lights and 2x white widow

its up to you, some people here will say once or twice a day, some say 15 minutes 3x daily, I have success with floods every 4 hours even through darkness for 3 minutes (my pump is bigger than i need, a longer flood will actually flood water off the tables, you have to adjust it to what suits your system and plants.

learn your plants, thats all that really matters.

I grow with the fearless gardener terraponic air table. It's a flood and drain set-up. I flood for 15 minutes once daily. That is an adult feeding regime. For younger ones, I flood every 2 or 3 days (for 15 minutes). The results have been remarkable. Keep in mind that I am using terraponic air bags and they support a bottom-feed method. Very effective. Good luck!

Hey guys, i am using 3" rock wool cubes and hydroton pellets in my table. I am about ready to plant my clones into my table. Should i plant the cubes 1/2" above the flood plain or should i flood the cubes? I was told that if i plant them above the flood plain water 3x per day for 15m. If you flood the cubes flood 1x per day for 15m. Does this sound right ? You can see my set up in my journal. I am using a 400w HPS what would you guys recommend ?
