Hi everyone. Im new to the site as well as new to growing. This is my second grow in 30 years and have just committed to growing for the foreseeable future. The reason I am posting today is this: my first round is coming to an end. I have three different strains in three phases. 3rd week veg, 5th week flower and 9th/10th week flower. The final set are pretty much ready as they were all supposed to be 8 week flower strains but all have only just turned milky white at the trichs. My question is this, I am going to attempt a final shock. I've read that cold temps help bring out the characteristics of the bud as does splitting the stem and inducing 3-4 days of absolute darkness. Is it possible to attempt these and somehow selectively crop the buds so the bottom nugs can better develop? Any and all help greatly appreciated. Cheers

Only go up to two days of dark. Hope you flushed your oldest girl, it'll help get any buildup out making the ash white and saving a lot of coughing, besides a smoother hit. You can split it too, I like putting zip ties when I do.

Thanks for the reply. I flushed for 10 days. Things seem fine but I had expected a larger yield.

I like to use bat guana from Jamaica or Indonesia, used a couple weeks before I flip. Really noticed a difference in getting the girls prepped. Stay smoking! Puffin on some super sour right now. Cheers!

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to try and dial in the environment some more. It was recommended in another post. It's not that I'm unhappy with the yield and the quality has been great. Just picking the minds of the experienced to make the most of what I have lol. Is the bat guana expensive?

Oh and I think you can cut the tops and let the bottoms finish up a little longer. Maybe somebody out there hates that idea but I haven't seen anybody complaining about it yet.

Not at all, you can get from 1lb+ for a minimum of $5 average, depending where you get it from. Anything that's good for fruits and has a flowering cycle is perfect for weed.
