*Newbie* Indoor Organic LED Grow

There are so many video on led for autos and photos, . Make an educated decision instead of someone else's opinion. Very much worth it for myself. I debate at times which light I want to run. Hid is the best for me from November till late February and Led the rest of the way. Sometimes I run both. Led will always have a home in my grow.

If I don't fly imma die anyway
I use strictly LED and my grow is doing just fine...lol

yeah its kind of wasteful otherwise. sounds like a good plan

okay just making sure you know. honestly bro I understand the allure of LED (reduced electric bills, reduced heat, ability to fine tune spectrums, having the newest gear , etc) but at the end of the day if you put an LED of the same wattage (not hypothetical but actual) next to an HId of similar wattage the HId will outperform the LED every time in the yield department and for about 1/4 or less the cost per unit, but its your grow and you can choose to do whatever you like im just stating facts to help you out.
I use LED for all stages of grow and my plants are doing just fine, There is a learning curve as it relates to intensity and distance but good LED setups do great.

Quick Update (11/1/16)

The plant seems to be doing just fine despite the heat. It's a bit warmer than I would like but as I said, I can't do much about it. I was actually surprised to see the growth over the past 2 or 3 days. This little seedling really is starting to take off! I have been watering daily although I am going to let it dry out a bit and start watering every 2 days.

I would like to top early and start as soon as possible. From what I've read, I should top after the 4th node. I am still a little unsure exactly where or how so I've attached a closeup maybe you guys could guide me through. I would say the plant currently has 2 nodes with the 3rd one starting to sprout.

The second AK plant still never sprouted, I went to remove the dead seedling and discovered the plant had been growing upside down! I carefully removed the root (about 1" in length) and re positioned it in the dirt with the 2 little leaves on top towards the light. I'm not really sure if it will make it but we will find out in the next day or so...

The other seed that I started germinating still has not popped. I guess well have to just wait it out.

Here are some photos from today :)

Brings back memories of my seedling in a plastic cup. I waited 3 weeks to transplant them to a bigger pot. By than the roots exploded and almost became root bound. I'd say that's the longest it should be in a cup in my opinion. That was back at the start of August and looked exactly like yours. My plant is 1 month in flowering-currently my profile picture. I'm using a 300w Galaxyhydro led and have fat colas. Good luck man.

Just my 2 cents on the cups, I used them after I transplanted my seedlings from my root riot cubes ( awesome cubes btw)and I could only keep them in there for 2 weeks before I had to transfer them out into 1 gallon bags because of the root growth was crazy and they started showing signs of deficiency. I Recommend starting them in 1 gallon bags ( cheap and efficient) for growth phase before transfering into a larger pot for flower and bypass the plastic cups all together.
This is a 2 week seedling from seed.

Hey OP didn't see your message about toppin. I looked at the pictures. It's really up to the grower to be honest. Most do it with 4 to 6 nodes. You can do it either way, you can start now because I know I did at this time based on that 3rd picture (2281.jpg)

You just pinch that top off with 2 fingers. It will heal quickly, harden and the energy from the light will be applied to the other leaves.

After your topped plant has healed I would fim it from there on. Fimming is less stressful and you get more tops and a more wider and even canopy. (Growweasy.com). For instructions.

Fim will give you more tops, but they will be smaller than if you just top.I started by fimming, then grew topped plants to compare, the topped plants yield bigger buds. You end up with the same yield, just more popcrn.

Are you multi topping or just once?

I usually only top 2 times,I also tie them down hard to spread them out for my cobs.I only use and have only ever used led to grow.
I have some autos that I want to get out of the way, and I'm running two mars LL 700. Starting my grow tonight. Straight organics ; water only.

Update Veg Day 15

Hey everyone! Just got back from an unexpected trip, I apologize for not updating in awhile.
I had a friend take care of everything the entire time.

This is around day 15 of veg for the AK plant. The other did not survive after flipping the root. The second random I germinated sprouted although I have not seen growth over the past 5 days. I'm thinking it might just be stressed since the little sprout is green, its just not really growing much. I moved the random to another room for added light.

The AK was just topped for the first time about 2 days ago. The plant has around 4-5 nodes. Its also seems very healthy and happy. I need to transplant it in the next few days.

I am considering transplanting it into a large 4 or maybe 5 gallon smart pot. I am going to keep it in the tent by itself. I will also install a full scrog net closer to flower.

Here are some photos! Let me know what you guys think about the larger pot.
Thanks!

Mine are currently around 2 weeks. I need to get this girl transplanted ASAP! If I wait any longer than a few days, it can get root-bound.

Also, I appreciate the photo for topping. I had my friend take care of it when I was away. He topped just 2 days ago and you can already see the two new main stems coming in!

Impressive ,Make it happen before it becomes root bound.

Just ordered a 5 gallon smart pot for the AK plant. Should be here by Thursday and I should have it transplanted by Friday.

From what I've read, I should extend my veg time a bit to make full use of the 5 gallon pot, If I do everything right I could have a monster. I am at day 15 of veg and I was planing to go about 30 days before the flip. Since I will now be using a 5 gallon pot, I am thinking I will let it go about 45 days in veg.

The plant has been topped once. I will top it again after everything heals and is back to normal.

Any suggestions to get the max yield from this girl? Also, has anyone had a similar setup, how did it yield? I am running all organic and will be using 5lb of Kind Soil in the pot with regular soil on top.

Top, top, and more tops. Top your baby wherever you can. Let them branch out and top again. If you are doing a long veg take advantage and top her at her highest nodes as many times as you like. After your last topping wait no less than 10 days before you fip her. Give her a chance to recoup then put her in flower. Don't forget to spread her out in the middle so the lower inside buds can get their share of light. Promise you, it will be your largest yield.
